When I became a college student, I was offered a position at my University's math tutoring center. Because of my previous experiences as a tutor, I was up for the new challenge. During my Sophomore year, I became a Teacher's Assistant working in classes of 25-40 students. Throughout my various experiences, I learned that I had a knack for figuring out the way people think and what methods help certain people grasp a new concept best. A problem facing many students in Math is that a majority ... [more]

Algebra 2 represents the first subject matter that students who happen to dislike math will start tuning out due to the difficulty level. The curriculum typically introduces more advanced algebraic concepts and functions. I truly enjoy teaching students math because we get to work up from the bare essentials to more interesting results and ideas. It's my hope that for students that either struggle with or dislike math (or both!) that once they no longer see the subject as just a collection of arbitrary rules but a system built from simple essential concepts they'll feel more confident in their math classes. I am certified to teach mathematics K-12. Students often take Algebra I, then Geometry, then Algebra II, so they forget a lot of concepts from Algebra I in the meantime. My goal is to build a strong foundation of Algebra I and then proceed to Algebra II, which is the lion's share of all standardized math tests. I have successfully tutored many students, who improved their grades in Algebra II dramatically and, as an added bonus, scored higher on standardized tests. I believe that every student is capable of learning. My goal is to allow them to reach their maximum potential by getting them int [more]

Algebra 2 is my favorite subject. This course allows you to truly explore your understanding of functions. Whether they are linear, quadratic, rational, polynomial or exponential. Depending on the course, many teachers also include trigonometry. Algebra 2 is one of the most challenging courses students will take, honors or non-honors. It is important that students keep up with the work level and keep up with practicing. I have found that when students don't keep up with the work load they tend to fall behind quickly, and it becomes increasingly difficult to keep up with the course. [more]
