I've tutored mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, and programming since 2013 on other sites. My goal is to make the material make sen... [more]

Much of algebra 2 involves working with functions, using functions to solve real world problems, transforming functions vertically and horizontally. It also involves working with complex fractions. These are just a few of the concepts common in algebra 2. I have had about 25 years experience in this field. I have had 15 years experience teaching high school science, including biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, and forensic science. In addition, I have been tutoring at a local community college for the past five years in such subjects as physics, algebra, and anatomy and ph [more]

I am an accelerated mathematics teacher at a private middle school and have taught an advanced Algebra I to 8th graders for two years. This includes in depth verbal, graphic, tabular and equation understanding of linear, quadratic and exponential functions. I cover a number of Algebra II topics that go beyond the NC Math I EOC Test. I have good success in helping students differentiate between the real number system properties and the complex. Inequalities, exponents, matrices and logarithms are areas students can stumble on and I help them navigate these by helping them see the "big" pict [more]

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Rhode Island College. During my semester student teaching, I taught Analysis, Algebra II, and Algebra I Level II and earned Honors in student teaching. I have been tutoring math students privately for over twenty years in a wide variety of subjects including Algebra II. From the time I was in grade school, I have been helping others to learn one-on-one. I was considered "gifted" because I understood and completed my work very quickly, and so I was asked to work with other students. I have always enjoyed the experience [more]

I love math, and have tutored and taught math for many years, with students of very different backgrounds and abilities--in the US and abroad, high school and college-age students. My paper qualifications include a BA in math from Harvard and a high school math teaching certification from MA and RI--but, of course, a tutor is made from much more than paper. I am always cheerful and positive and have often been asked to help students prepare for the year ahead over the summer, giving stude... [more]

I graduated from both high school and college with a 4.0 GPA, and I love using the knowledge I have gained to help students learn the skills to be successful in all academic areas. I have always assisted classmates and colleagues with learning various subjects, from math and English to physics and German, and I have been employed by well-known tutoring services. I received a 5 (the highest score possible) on both the AB and BC calculus tests, and have received an A in every math class I ha... [more]

I have passed the algebra test offered by WyzAnt and have been tutoring students requiring work in algebra for quite some time. When I tutored at my institution during my undergrad, many of the students I attended to were struggling with pre-college concepts. This enabled me to develop good techniques for tutoring the basics. I have two bachelor's degrees, one in Applied Mathematics and one in Earth Science. I am currently attending Brown university to obtain a PhD in Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences with a focus in oceanography. For mathematics, my strengths are in calculus, line [more]

I received a score of 100% on the WyzAnt test for this subject. I've taught Algebra 2 for many years. I've been teaching high school Math for about 17 years in Providence. I've taught everything from Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calculus. I've also tutored beginning Calculus. I've worked with all sorts of graphing calculators. I've worked with special education students mixed into my classes. Presently I am constantly attending professional development for the new Common Core Standards that RI has adopted.... [more]
