Algebra II and College Algebra are fairly similar, and I teach both more often that almost any subject (next to Geometry perhaps). I have been teaching this subject for over five years now, and have the topics down to a science. There is a clean progression from topic to topic when Algebra II is taught correctly, and with my experience the class can be made to be enjoyable and fully understandable. I hold a Bachelors in Secondary Mathematics Education from USF, and I taught for 5 years in both public and private schools teaching math and science. As the oldest of four, I have tutored since a v [more]

This year I have had a lot of algebra 2 honors students. One of them came to me with a 28 grade point average. She now has a 90+ grade point average. As I share a few insights, they can often grasp and succeed in areas of algebra 2 that prior were not understood. Success is often a state of mind and I approach tutoring with the idea that the student feel like they are succeeding in even the smallest areas of improvement. This often carries over to making their dreams of not only passing but increasing their grades by many letters come true. [more]

My current Master's program at USF has covered this topic. I have tutored multiple students in Algebra 2. All of them have shown increased test scores and understanding of the material. I currently am a Middle School Math Teacher in the Public School System. I hold a B.A. from Brandeis University in Massachusetts and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Florida for Mathematics. At 13 I first took the SAT and received a 770 in Math. Four years later I took the SAT again and received a perfect 800 in Math. At the age of 14 I took the SAT II Math IC and received a 790. [more]

Hi! My name is Erica. I graduated with honors in May 2018 from the University of Alabama with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I have always had an inclination for science throughout my years as a student and while exploring how this could translate into a career, I discovered a passion for medicine. Although I could not be more excited for a future as a doctor, I decided to take a gap year before starting down the long journey of medical school, residency, and beyond. During this... [more]

Algebra is still a level of mathematics that can be fun to the general student. I take the first lesson to listen to the student speak about his/her frustrations and "failures" and to go over basic math... to determine his/her level and weaknesses. In this first lesson, I will also reteach some of the algebra basics that most teachers assume the student already knows. If the student is currently in algebra, I teach from the student's book, as well as augment it with problems and handouts of my own. I will explain concepts in multiple ways, until one clicks. I'm certified to teach 6-12 and have taught Algebra 2 for 7 years. I have loved math ever since I can remember. I used to play with dominoes and do puzzles as a child. This love transferred into teaching in many different ways. I taught in a traditional classroom and have also enjoyed working in a small group settings for over 10 years. I teach math only for the SAT, SSAT, ACT, FSA and up through Algebra 2. I look forward to helping you or your child achieve their goals! I push my students to work hard to uncover their true potential. Those who wor... [more]

I taught algebra 2 for 3 years during my 14 years of teaching. In addition, I have tutored in this subject for over 16 years. I love learning and helping students develop a life long love for learning. As a middle and high school science and math teacher for the past 14 years, I have helped hundreds of students overcome a dislike of math and science. I believe that if students can begin to gain confidence in their skills and see improvement, it can make a difference in their attitudes towards school. The best part of my job as a teacher was seeing kids who once struggled overcome their fear [more]
