As of spring semester 2019 I will be teaching at a local college and will only have time to accept a limited number of students, and probably few if any new ones. However this may change once I get a better feel for the new job. My apologies. I have a Ph.D and M.S. in biochemistry, my specialty being bio-organic chemistry. I was a professor at a prestigious four-year liberal arts college where I taught upper division biochemistry and organic chemistry. I have taught and tutored chemistry at ... [more]

I have experience tutoring about the properties of rational polynomials, synthetic division and long division of polynomials, algebra with imaginary numbers, etc. I have a BS in Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. I also attended California State University, San Marcos as a graduate student in Mathematics; the degree is incomplete and I discontinued the program. I've been tutoring since December 2013. I've tutored all ages, K through college. I am available 24/7 other than when I'm booked with a student. I tutor Calculus BC, Calculus AB, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, A [more]

Dear Learners, I have been working in education for four years. For over two years I was a long term substitute teacher for a K-12 charter school. This gave me the great opportunity to teach all different grade levels and topics. During these years I had the chance to create an after school tutoring program. I helped students with math, science and organizational skills. Currently I'm working as a teacher's aide for the special education department at a preparatory school. I get to work one ... [more]

Hello, I'm Drew! I graduated from a private university in the heart of New York City with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. While in college, I earned a spot on the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement on 4 separate occasions. What I loved most about my time in school (besides the $1 slices of pizza) was that no matter what class I took, I made sure to connect with available on-campus tutors whose expertise gave me a solid understanding of the subject material. I appreciated the ... [more]

Algebra 2 can be a tricky subject. I remember when I took it, I felt that it was a much bigger jump in difficulty from Algebra 1 to 2 than from Pre-algebra to Algebra 1. I remember seeing matrices for the first time and having no clue what was going on. However, after a little practice, they became one of my favorite parts of the class. I ended up doing very well in my class, all while helping out just about every single one of my friends that was in my class. Hello, My name is Brian and I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I have tak [more]

I am an avid tutor in Math and Science and have math knowledge up to Calculus 2. Hi there! My name is Brandon B., I am a student attending Palomar College, looking to transfer next year, and major in Environmental Science. Math and Science are my strong suits, and I understand these areas very well. I feel anybody can learn anything if taught in the right way. If a topic is able to be made relate able and simplified, I think any topic can be understood easily. As Einstein once said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough".... During my time tutoring Algebra 2, I have made students more confident, prepared for important tests like the ACT and SAT, helped students master graphing functions. With two years of tutoring experience, I have helped my tutees come leaps and bounds in their education. I tutor Chemistry, Biology, up to Calculus level math, Foreign Language, and English. My pupils develop stronger academic skills in Reading, Math, and Writing. I also make it my mission to go further and help students develop better concentration, focus, and attention span. I have dealt with Math anxiety, reading trouble, and i [more]

Math is an everyday language, and my method of tutoring Algebra concentrates on that fact. I provide students with a way to "read" their math problems that allows them to better understand the basis of new concepts. In Algebra 2 I build on the understandings that the student has already obtained and link them to the more advanced ones with which they are currently dealing. YOU CAN LEARN and I CAN SHOW YOU HOW to: +++Overcome Fear of Failure +++Master "Hard" Subjects +++Find Success in Learning It is my belief that there is a greater potential within all of us to learn any subject better th [more]

I have 6 years of college math. As for Algebra, I started studying it in the eighth grade. I studied advanced topics in college and graduate school. As an engineering student, I took six years of undergraduate and graduate-level college math. Regarding content, my coursework covered the spectrum, covering trig, probability, calculus, linear algebra, and advanced engineering math. As an engineer for over 41 years, I programmed and tested highly complex mathematical algorithms. I also had the opportunity to teach soldiers and other engineers, and I did get positive feedback from my st [more]
