Algebra 2 is a solid continuation of Algebra 1 (which I have been tutoring for years). Without realizing it, I have been tutoring Algebra 2 for a few years as well, as I have watched my Algebra 1 students progress through their studies! While the topics in Algebra 2 are marginally more difficult than in Algebra 1, the same variety of teaching techniques apply. This is true though many different levels of math, including all levels of Algebra, including College Algebra! Hello, I realize that my profile has gotten very long. If you do not want to read all of it, there is a TL;DR (Too Long; Didn' [more]

My love of mathematics began with high school algebra. I believe that mathematical thinking is an important skill for every person to have. I have taken college level courses in advanced algebra and teaching mathematics. In addition I have taught myself trigonometry and analytical geometry. At my last school, I taught beginning and intermediate algebra to high school students on an individual basis, much like tutoring, using several different computer platforms. I also taught algebra and geometry to students in small groups, according to what skills they needed to pass the AIMS test. I bel [more]

Hello, my name is Dr. Kelly, and I am well versed in mathematics, physics, and the medical sciences. I got my undergraduate degrees in physics and economics and my doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from SCNM. I currently teach anatomy and physiology. I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or ... [more]

Algebra 2 is the course where math becomes really abstract, where we start considering ideas like logarithms and imaginary numbers. Historically, some of these concepts met strong resistance from many creative and thoughtful mathematicians because they are very difficult to relate to the real world. I have clear and comprehensible ways of explaining these concepts so that they become easy to retain and apply to real-world problems. I have practical and useful strategies that will help you remember how to solve problems even in high-stress testing situations. I am a certified AZ teacher with [more]
