Learning should be fun, empowering and exciting. I am an author, a professor, and a very experienced designer, programmer and media producer with a passion for teaching, learning, innovation and education. I go beyond teaching the fundamental concepts, and add a deep understanding of what they are for, how they are used, and where they all fit together. I believe that enthusiasm, dreams and accomplishment are the best motivators for education. I teach through a combination of traditional sk... [more]

As with all the math subjects I tutor, I've tutored Algebra 2 a lot. Having a degree in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, I have a strong grasp of the wide array of topics they introduce in Algebra 2, from higher order polynomials to matrices; from exponents to simplifying radicals. Often times, Algebra 2 can be an overwhelming subject since it introduces so many new, seemingly-unrelated topics. I work with students to show how all this work ties together. With over 15 years of tutoring experience and having graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, I am among t [more]

This course extends the topics first seen in Algebra I and provides advanced skills in algebraic operations. Additionally, linear and quadratic functions and relations, conic sections, exponential and logarithmic functions, graphing, and sequences and series will be explored. What engenders a love of math? How can the door to its beautiful and fun aspects to be opened onto the numbers and their qualities, then remain open through algebra and beyond? Or, how and why do fear and lack of confidence close that door? A child-centered, developmental key can open that door. I am happy to help your ch [more]

Algebra 2 often has students memorizing and regurgitating concepts they are not really taught to understand. My approach reduces Algebra 2 down to concepts the student already understands from Algebra 1, allowing them to gain a genuine understanding of the ideas. I have been using this method to great effect for many years. Many students who used to hate math now love it because it now makes sense to them. 12 years experience; I've been tutoring since I was 18. Valedictorian St. Bonaventure High School. This is my favorite subject to teach. I currently have two Algebra II classes at my school and have a great reputation as being one of the best Algebra teachers at the school. I have been teaching 38 years and most of those years were Alg II so I think I really not only get it by now, but I can really help someone avoid the common pitfalls. It is my real pleasure to provide this service to my clients who find I meet their need. It is my hope that I can truly get your son or daughter feeling successful and confident with high school math again within a few of our lessons. I focus immediat [more]
