Algebra 2 is built on algebra one my favorite subject. It is more complex and harder to teach but rewarding nonetheless. I have a degree in the subject and got A's in high school as well. I enjoy helping students understanding graphs and how the equations they learned to solve translate into graphs. I currently live in Lawrence KS where I work each day as a middle school paraprofessional resource aide in the Lawrence school district. I love algebra and geometry and majored in mathematics completing my bachelor's degree. I have a passion for young people to see that math is something that [more]

Since I started teaching and training twenty years ago, I've loved helping people learn new things. Over the years, then, I've developed a style that is both easygoing and incredibly successful. A tutoring session with me will start with me working hard to understand where you are in relation to the assignment at hand. Soon, I'll be guiding you -- not answering the questions for you, but helping guide you to the answers yourself. I don't leave till you understand the questions at hand... [more]

I began tutoring Algebra 2 about 6 years ago. I started by tutoring classmates in my Algebra 2 class and have been tutoring the subject ever since. I find that most students struggling with algebra just need the subject explained in a different way. My goal is to explain each concept in multiple different ways, so that the student can figure out which way works best for them. Each algebra problem has multiple ways to get the correct solution, so helping the student find which way makes the most sense to them is my ultimate goal. [more]

I have graduate degrees in mathematics and biology and more than 20 years? experience teaching high school and college students; I have been tutoring for as long, especially in math, science, and writing. I'm a Ph.D. student in Bioengineering (biomechanical) here at the University of Kansas. What started as a way to earn money on the side while I finish my education has turned into a genuine passion for teaching and giving back. I know firsthand the value of education and how a bad experience in a class or with a teacher can be discouraging at best. I will always be encouraging, optimistic, and I show students how to become confident in their abilities. I'm patient, flexible, and I know wh... [more]
