If you're looking for somebody to either help you catch up in math, or get ahead in math, I'm your guy. I was a math major at Washington University in St. Louis, and minored in German, economics, and writing. While there, I tutored students in everything from counting to calculus, and beyond. I then earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Bard College in '07. I've been tutoring for 12+ years, and full-time for 10+. I've had students between the ages of 6 and 66, with a focus on high sc... [more]

During my time at Stony Brook University I was able to achieve a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in teaching science. I cultivated my love for the sciences and for education through different types of course work and hands on experience. I was able to be a Teaching Assistant at the University for two semesters where I got to work with groups of students as well as one on one. I have graduated and received my New York State certifications in Physics and General Science ed... [more]

I've been working in astronomy education and public outreach for 15 years. I have worked for seven years, in New York and Arizona, as an amateur astronomer, showing the night sky to public and private groups through telescopes, binoculars, and with the unaided eye. I've operated and printed in multiple planetariums, and currently am a presenter at a Planetarium at a Museum of Natural History. I was also an Astrophysics Educator for 4.5 years, teaching astronomy to students, pre-K through high school. I currently am an active sidewalk astronomer, lead viewing sessions in local parks, and co [more]

I was a member of the Undergraduate Astronomical Society at UCLA, and also took an Astronomy course that broadened my understanding of the universe. I have tutored students at Columbia University for Astronomy 1403: Earth, Moon, and Planets, and Astronomy 1753: Life in the Universe. I'm very comfortable with the math and physics involved for courses at the undergraduate level, and I love the moments when an explanation really clicks for my students. I moved to New York in 2016 after a summer volunteering abroad as an ESL teacher and curriculum developer. Before that, I studied English and Ling [more]

My research focus pertained to plasma physics, more sp... [more]

Hi, I'm Peter. I have degrees in physics and astronomy. I?m a former physics teacher, with five years of experience at a school here in the city. I've taught a range of science and math classes, as well as computer science. I left teaching because I wanted to transition into data analytics, but I?m still excited about science and about education, and I want to keep helping students excel. I think my greatest strength as a teacher is in helping and encouraging students to reach points of ge... [more]
