"The key to education is to get to them before they realize that they're learning" - Unknown. Rather than teach a specific set of material, I prefer to give my students a set of mental tools that enable them to tackle the target material and use the subsequently developed analysis skills to find better ways to learn. I will require you to comprehend concepts and will not teach rote memorization methods unless special n [more]

I took multiple courses in biostatistics, and my dissertation work is largely focused on statistical modeling. Hi! Welcome to my page. I am currently an MSU PhD student studying diseases in dairy cattle. I have not had previous experience teaching or tutoring, but I am planning to become a professor after graduating. I can help you make sense of statistics!

I am currently in my second year pursuing an MPH in biostatistics. I have experience with conceptualizing research questions, formulating the proper research design, analyzing data, presenting in a scholarly setting, and preparing manuscripts for publication. I am also a research coordinator at Cleveland Clinic, so I get first-hand experience with what real-world research really looks like and how it relates to statistics concepts my students will learn in class. I had taken a biostatistics course in my undergraduate education, as well as multiple other statistics courses throughout my college education. At the time, I was pursuing a degree in medical laboratory science, so I have an extensive background in biology and mathematics courses which would allow me to pursue that career, including biostatistics. In addition, I have been utilizing statistics to complete my thesis work and other projects necessary for me to complete my degree and obtain publications, so I use statistics often in my day-to-day life. BioStatistics is extremely similar to other statistics courses. The calculations are the same. The statistical and probability interpretations are the same. Only difference is that the problems use BioStast data rather than some other type of data. I am very familiar with the type of calculations and interpretations of numbers and can do either TI calculator, Excel, or MegaStat stats calcs. Unfortunately, I have never done SPSS. I have taught statistics and also tutored my WyzAnt students and references are available. [more]
