Experienced Computer and Math Pro at your Service

I have written many small and several fairly large and complex commercial C programs. Of particular note was a large natural language understanding system which included a complex, parallel neural network, special file system and memory management code to handle very large file ingestion, and additional parallel linear algebra code. Another interesting project was the server code for a high-throughput, serial-communication based check verification system used by a multi-state financial institution. [more]

Help with computers, business, project management, math, sciences

C is the 4th language I learned and the 1st to bring me profit. I started a software company called "WestComp" located in Upland, Ca. I created games and utilities for the Zenith computer systems - all with C. I've sold a Prolog interpreter created in C and a book which was sold separately: ISBN-13: 978-0934259101. I programed a LISP interpreter in C (called CLISP) which was bought by many major companies - including NASA. Springer has a PDF document "List of Commercial or Field tested Tools and Systems" which has my software listed. If you need, I can send you the link or PDF file. [more]

Retired Open Source developer and architect

I installed my first UNIX system in 1977. This was the first (Richie) compiler. I reverse engineered changes to the UNIX System III kernel for the Corvus Uniplex (a very early MC68010 microcomputer) from object files generated by the MIT 68K version of pcc, a precursor to gcc. When I worked at AltaVista Search, I had to reverse engineer a critical site application written in C (gcc) for the Alpha (DEC's 64 bit chip). I have been a contributor to Linux/ Open Source with my most recent work as release manager and core developer on the nfs-ganesha project (github) and some Linux kernel (all C). [more]
