I have three formal courses in Calculus from Texas Tech, taken between 1980 and 1981. After graduation from Texas Tech, I independently reviewed Calculus by working straight through "Schaum's Outline Of Differential And Integral Calculus" and solving every problem that gave a final answer to check. I am currently exploring Thomas and Finney's "Calculus And Analytic Geometry/7th Edition" (long the excellent MIT standard textbook which I can only wish was my required text at TTU) as a further review. I am also pursuing Advanced Calculus/Mathematical Analysis to reach higher rigour and underst [more]

I am not new to the art of helping people refine the skills needed for them to reach their full potential. While I cannot force you to learn anything, nor guarantee it will be easy, I can help you not only with the subject matter, but can enhance your ability to cultivate a mindset characteristic of success. If you interests and needs are in the sciences and math, well you have come to the right place as I am a student of mechanical engineering and we do a bit of both in there. If you a... [more]

I have had Calculus as a student and my certification in Texas qualifies me to teach it I have been teaching for 7 years and I am certified for both Middle and High School. I am Special Education certified as well. I am a firm believer that my students need to demonstrate a basic understanding of any concept that we are working on by doing it by hand and not go to a calculator first. The student needs to think through the problem first and develop a process for problem solving. Learning the foundational concepts and skills are critical before we utilize technology.... [more]

I have always had a passion for learning. Ever since I was young, I strove to take in as much knowledge as possible. After high school, I began a new chapter of my life at Texas Tech University, and have found that there is much more knowledge to be obtained here. As well as my love for knowledge, I also enjoy helping others understand even the most complex subjects. In high school, I took AP Calculus, and scored a 5 on the end-of-year exam, the highest score possible. In addition to this,... [more]

After graduating from college with high honors, I decided it was my time to help other students succeed in their studies: whether they wanted to improve their grades, get ahead of the class or just learn a new subject. My high involvement in extracurricular activities also allowed me to learn new abilities and skills that I?m now willing to share with other students. For example, I competed at the World Championship of Robotics so I?ve served as a mentor to other students with the designing, ... [more]
