Calculus is a challenging and diverse subject, which calls heavily on skills acquired in previous study of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. It is also one of the principal mathematical tools used in physics and engineering. With my PhD in physics, I have had to make extensive use of calculus, both in my own studies as well as my lecture presentations. I can draw on my experience to help you gain proficiency in this often bewildering subject. Physics and mathematics can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be painful! With over 10 years teaching and tutoring experience in Physical Sci [more]

I am a senior at UGA, double majoring in Math and Exercise and Sports Science. Throughout college, I have helped fellow students understand concepts in math, science, Spanish, and English. I have also helped proof read papers. Additionally, I have previous experience tutoring math. I believe that repetition and understanding are key to learning. Memorizing tons of concepts/formulas may sometimes help students get better grades, but it will not help them understand material. My goal is to ... [more]

I have many years of experience as a tutor. I started tutoring chemistry while in college at the University of Florida. After graduating, I worked at Broward College in South Florida tutoring Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, and Biology. Soon after, I worked with a local company tutoring for the SAT and ACT. I helped many students to increase their scores substantially, earn scholarship money, and get into the schools of their choice. Eventually I returned to graduate school, but... [more]

I have taken both Calculus 1 and 2 . I also completed the AP tests for each course and scored a grade sufficient to receive college credit. I have tutored students in Calculus for the past seven years. I have received my Master's degree from the Arnold School of Public Health in Health Services Policy and Management. I have also graduated from Emory University with a B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. I have over TEN years of experience tutoring individuals. I previously worked for the Kumon program where I tutored students in both Mathematics and Reading. I had the opportunity to as [more]

Calculus is the most useful form of mathematics aside from Algebra that I have had the priviledge of learning. I look forward to having the opportunity to share my love for Calculus with others. I hold both a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Education from Augusta State University. Currently, I teach both regular Physics and AP Physics C: Mechanics at the high school level. Throughout my time as a student at Augusta State, I have tutored students in many areas including Physics I, Physics II, pre-algebra, algebra, college algebra, trigonometry, geology, and calculus. I h [more]

Hello, my name is James and I am an electrical engineering major at the University of South Carolina. I do not have any actual experience in tutoring, but I have helped many friends and classmates to understand math concepts in study sessions as well as helping them with homework problems. I am going into my fourth year of college. I excelled in my math courses all through high school. I have also received high marks in my college math courses. In high school I earned A's in my mathemati... [more]

I am a graduate student in the Physics Department pursing a PhD in Quantum Computation at the University of Georgia where I have been and currently am a lab and class teaching assistant. Consequently, I have dealt with both students who are engaged with the material and are eager to learn and those who simply want to know what to do merely to finish. Therefore I have developed teaching strategies for both types of students. I have also tutored before for a math learning center, spending at... [more]

I enjoy sharing my knowledge, exploring new ideas, and keeping current with the latest technology. I like to boast in that my impact is great, but I couldn't do it without the help of this great platform. I am currently tutoring STEM subjects at the high school and university level. I can help you with Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Probability & Statistics, Modeling and Simulation, and Numerical Methods. I also can be of assistance in preparing you or your... [more]

I've been teaching mathematics in Sumter High School, Sumter, SC for five years. I recently relocated to Columbia, and I teach mathematics at C.A. Johnson High School, Columbia, SC now. I've got experience teaching algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, pre-algebra, calculus, probability and statistics, differential equations, and preparing students for HSAP/SAT and ASVAB. I provide a lot of practice and repetition to students; only through daily practice and repetition students can gain experience... [more]

I am quite familiar with differential calculus and can assist you in understanding these concepts. I will admit that integral calculus is difficult for me and if a student wishes to work in this area, I will need to be advised ahead of each session as to the material to be covered so that I may be properly prepared. I am a retired Chemical Engineer and have served in the chemical processing industries for my entire career. I have a BChE degree (Cum Laude) from U of F and an MS degree from the Univ. of Tenn. I have been tutoring students from the 8th grade through college in Mathematics and [more]
