I am a current student at the University of Georgia studying higher level mathematics and philosophy. I have a special perspective on mathematics, a logical perspective gained through my studies of logic and philosophical proof. I explain mathematics in methods based on reason, teaching the ideas not through formulaic memorization, but through rationalizing the material. I received a 780/800 on SAT mathematics and excelled in other standardized math tests (i.e., 5 on BC Calculus Exam). I'm a current honors student at the University of Georgia studying higher level mathematics and philosophy. I [more]

I have many years of experience as a tutor. I started tutoring chemistry while in college at the University of Florida. After graduating, I worked at Broward College in South Florida tutoring Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, and Biology. Soon after, I worked with a local company tutoring for the SAT and ACT. I helped many students to increase their scores substantially, earn scholarship money, and get into the schools of their choice. Eventually I returned to graduate school, but... [more]

Currently, I teach both regular Physics and AP Physics C: Mechanics at the high school level. Throughout my time as a student at Augusta State, I have tutored students in many areas including Physics I, Physics II, pre-algebra, algebra, college algebra, trigonometry, geology, and calculus. I have been tutoring both high school and college students for 30 years. As a graduate student at UGA, I taught symbolic logic four times. In the past year, I have taught four SAT math preparation classes at Athens Academy. For the last eight years I have been tutoring student athletes at UGA and upper and middle school students at Athens Academy. Math tutoring is my vocation. I approach mathematics more as an art than a science. Math as an art means that it is a skill perfected by practic... [more]

I am a graduate student in the Physics Department pursing a PhD in Quantum Computation at the University of Georgia where I have been and currently am a lab and class teaching assistant. Consequently, I have dealt with both students who are engaged with the material and are eager to learn and those who simply want to know what to do merely to finish. Therefore I have developed teaching strategies for both types of students. I have also tutored before for a math learning center, spending at... [more]
