Having a degree in mathematics, calculus was used throughout my education. In fact, calculus is a tool I use on a day-to-day basis. I've been tutoring the subject for over 10 years. I have over fifteen years of experience tutoring to high school, college, and graduate students. My specialty lies in tutoring mathematics in several areas such as calculus, elementary/abstract algebra, linear algebra, differential equations, real/complex analysis, and topology. In my experience, I've found that students learn mathematics most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in [more]

Whether students love math and science or despise them, I am usually able to make the experience better for them. I tailor tutoring sessions based on students? needs and parents? expectations. When a student is struggling, I provide specific help where it's needed. I am particularly good at making Chemistry much less painful to deal with. I am able to explain the material in understandable ways. One of the best compliments I received recently is that one of my students jokingly said to her... [more]

I have a PhD. in experimental nuclear physics and have been tutoring for more than 6 years, including AP Calculus. I have completed undergraduate coursework in the following math subjects - differential and integral calculus, advanced calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, advanced differential equations with applications, and complex analysis. Hi, Everyone, I am a long-time senior engineering physicist at a national laboratory, with a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics from the State University of New York-Stony Brook. Over the years I have enjoyed interacting with students an [more]

I have been a private tutor for the last 19 years. Calculus I is one of my favorite subjects given its use of Algebra and Trigonometry. Some of my favorite topics are limits, derivatives/applications, integral/applications, chain and product rules and advanced graphing methods. Two of my college professors supported and encouraged me to choose education as my major. I chose to work in a Laboratory instead. Fast-forward several years and I found myself training the newly-hired Laboratory Technicians and shared the joy, and frustrations, of teaching with my former professors. They listened, sm [more]

I am currently a tutor at Waubonsee Community College. I teach all math from K-12 and all the way up to calculus 3. I have a real passion for teaching and am very patient when it comes to teaching and explaining material. I feel this would be a perfect fit for me due tomb extensive experience Subjects include K-12 math, algebra 1, algebra 2, calculus 1-3, precalculus, prealgebra, and trigonometry. I am very kind, patient, and will help late at all hours. I am very experienced and am s... [more]

I have a Masters in Mathematics. I have completed undergraduate and graduate coursework in Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus and Matrix Algebra, Non-linear System analysis and Functional analysis. I have a strong grasp of Calculus as I work daily with physicists translating calculus concepts into coding algorithms. Hello, my name is Linden. I am an experienced System Analyst at a national laboratory with a PhD in Computer Systems Engineering and a Masters in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Upstate New York. Over the years I have enjoyed mentoring students in [more]

I love teaching math and science, and I know how to make it fun and interesting. As a physicist I work everyday with math and science, and I have a long experience in teaching and tutoring at all levels (university, high school, middle and elementary school). My son (a 5th grader) scores above 99 percentile in all math tests, and you too can have high scores.... [more]

I'm a a fully qualified teacher from Scotland that has recently moved here due to marriage and now have my green card. I love teaching, and whilst I await registration at state level here I really want to continue to teach, tutor and help wherever possible. Secondary teaching Maths in Scotland includes everything from basic skills (i.e., 5 year old ability due to our inclusive system) up to calculus, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, etc. all at university entrance standards (i.e., about... I have a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Illinois, Chicago. I have long technical and administrative experience by working in corporate engineering companies and national laboratories. I have taught in several colleges and universities as Adjunct Faculty. I taught courses in Algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics. I am now retired and can devote substantial amount of time for tutoring students and help develop their maximum development. I ... As a young individual, I have helped fellow peers and upper classmen with topics that are difficult, ranging from Physics, to Math, to Chemistry, and each time the experience of getting through a problem or topic has always felt special. With teachers that expected AP students to be independent and hard working, it was tough for those who just had more trouble than others understanding the material. For those students, I know that as long as it is within my scope of understanding, I can help ... [more]
