I took Calculus 2 and 3 my freshman year of college, and have since put them to practice in tutoring locations such as the Brandon HCC and the University of South Florida. I have a copy of a text which encompasses all three of the Calculus classes- differential, integral, and multi-variable. I also stay up to date on topics in Calculus using websites. As the oldest of four, I have taught since a very early age. I officially started tutoring in high school through the Math Club, and have tutored at the HCC campuses of Southshore, Brandon, and Plant City. I have also tutored for USF and Knowledg [more]

As part of earning my degree in mathematics, I was required to take three semesters of calculus, a course in advanced calculus, and many other courses that required calculus such as ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. In my 8 years of experience I have helped dozens of students overcome their fears of calculus and succeed. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2007 and have a long list of satisfied clients. When I'm not tutoring with Wyzant, I'm the STEM Educator for United Skates of America. It's my job to make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathemati [more]

Calculus is a subject that must be understood by anyone hoping to major in physics and math. As a physics/math major I feel that I know this subject very well. Again, my experience as a tutor at Hillsborough Community College has given me much confidence in my ability to be a tutor for this subject. I began college as a tuba/jazz performance major and at some point realized that music was not the path for me. While taking my general education requirements, I came to find that I enjoy the thrill of math and science. I still work as a musician but appreciate music more because of my math ski [more]

I have been tutoring precalc, Calc I, and Calc II for several years now. I recently relocated from the northeast to Wesley Chapel, FL in order to be closer to family and be as far away from those cold snowy winters as possible. For the better part of 10 years I played professional poker, which requires a high level of intelligence, keen observation and adaptability, and a strong foundation in mathematics. On top of that, I started a private SAT prep business with a former English Professor in Philadelphia in 2004. He took care of the English, I took care of t... [more]

I studied physics intensively at high school for three years. Physics is the science that discovers the secrets of the nature. This discovery is never possible without good knowledge of mathematics. Person who studied physics cannot be imagined without the knowledge of mathematics. I was fortunate to acquire good knowledge in both fields. I don't get tired of repeating my success in International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) which I participated at high school because this Olympiad is not among 10... [more]

I was a TA for 4 semesters for engineering and general science calculus I, I ran the required problem solving sessions. All TA's were also required to do departmental tutoring for Calculus I-III for students as well as one-on-one sessions in the form of office hours. My degree in physics is also quite heavy on the calculus so aside from taking the calculus classes specifically my degree curriculum had calculus in all the classes. I'm a current graduate student in Applied Physics at the University of South Tampa. As a graduate assistant at USF, I teach the general physics labs, recitation/probl [more]

I have tutored students in Calculus since 2005, while I was still attending High School and have continued private tutoring since. I also tutored professionally at HCC Brandon Campus' Academic Success Center. I worked there while completing my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the USF from January 2010 to July 2013. Hi my name is Howard and I love helping others succeed in their math classes. I started professionally tutoring students in 2010 at Hillsborough Community College Brandon Campus' Academics Success Center while completing my Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering at [more]

Hi, My name is Shanna. In May 2016, I graduated with my masters in statistics from the University of South Florida (USF). Prior to that, I graduated with two bachelor's degrees, one statistics and the other chemistry, from USF in May 2014. I have teaching experience working as a math instructor at a local college. Moreover, I am an experienced tutor as I have worked as a tutor at USF's library for approximately two years. In fact, I received my CRLA International Tutoring Training Program C... [more]

I really enjoy tutoring and seeing the lightbulb light up in my students' heads; it is truly a rewarding experience. Watching a student's attitude change from "I hate math" to "I'm considering majoring in math" reassures me that I am doing a great thing and making a huge difference in their lives. Through my years of tutoring, I have acquired new tutees via referrals from my former tutees and their parents. This reassures me that I am an effective tutor and encourages me to go far beyond what... [more]

I have been a Teaching Assistant at USF for over 2 years and I have been privately tutoring also for the last 2 years. I have taught classes at the college level including General Physics Lab courses and Problem Solving Sections. I have experience in communicating general physics concepts to students with either a Calculus or Algebra-based background. I enjoy helping students learn about physics. I like to focus on understanding the physical concepts, because it leads to an easier under... [more]
