I have been teaching Physics for the past 5 years and I truly love it. Before that, I tutored it for 4 years. In college I chose Physics as my major because I enjoyed it and it made sense to me. I decided to tutor it because I wanted others to see the same things. My goal, still, is to show my students that Physics is not hard and can be fun to learn. I have taught at large public schools and small private ones. I am not limited to Physics though, I have also taught Algebra, Algebra II ... [more]

I'm a college professor with 25+ years of experience teaching mathematics and computer programming. My favorite subjects include precalculus, calculus, linear algebra, optimization and numerical analysis. I believe the only way to learn mathematics or computer programming is by working through many exercises and problems. There's no way around this. It doesn't matter how well a lecture is presented or how good the teacher is. If you don't do the work yourself, you'll probably not succeed. ... [more]

Taught Calculus applied to business problems. Taught general calculus as applied to physics applications. Taught Purdue graduate students advanced calculus techniques for chemistry and physics applications. GRE preparation tutor Math component. Developed theoretical physics calculations of Green's function solutions and stochastic solutions to Boltzmann energy distributions. Recent students are working on AP B/C Physics and physical chemistry requiring calculus and extension to differential equations and discussion of series solutions and limits. [more]

Background: I graduated from UCSD with a Master's in Electrical Engineering. As a graduate student, I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate engineering and science classes. I have been tutoring part time for the past 3-4 years. I mainly tutor high school and undergraduate math and high school physics. Teaching/Tutoring Method: For the most part, I try to focus on helping the student understand the concepts. I have an excellent understanding of the subject and I can break it down to th... [more]

I am a UC Berkeley graduate with a B.Sc in Chemical Engineering (concentrated in Materials Science and Engineering) and a minor in Chemistry. I have been tutoring since I was a freshman in high school 8 years ago, and during my years as an undergraduate at Berkeley, I was given the opportunity to work as a university-employed tutor for the College of Engineering's Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE), where I taught coursework ranging from multi-variable calculus and linear alg... To prospective students: Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Amorsolo, "Amor" for short. I have tutored at schools and homes with small groups of 5-7 students and one-on-one for 7 years. The areas that I specialize in are math and science. I do tutor other subjects with the exception of English and history. I enjoy tutoring and helping people learn about things. To me, there is nothing better then working with individuals learn something and finally seeking them have that "AHA"... [more]

I took First Semester Calculus in Summer of 2009. I failed. I quickly learned that some subjects need to be mastered. While I still have some difficulties, I will try my best to convey this during sessions. A California native, I have served the San Diego and Santa Cruz areas for eight years as an independent one-on-one tutor to students of all ages. My tutoring experience started with a volunteer opportunity at Calvary Chapel Oceanside, where I helped students from kindergarten to fifth grade with various subjects (reading comprehension, mathematics, writing). I soon received my first job as [more]

I am successful Engineer with teaching as a passion. I believe in making fundamentals strong and in building a student's basics so he/she loves the subject and doesn't just study the tricks to solve the predefined problems. I feel satisfied only if my students are successful. I have scored 100% in maths GRE scores. I hold Masters of EE from USC. I am very flexible about cancellation policies and teaching hours. My expertise of Maths is towards engineering. I am great in Geometry, probab... [more]

I have taken all three semesters of Calculus and received near perfect grades in each. I have also excelled in calculus application classes, such as physics. I have experience helping out fellow classmates when they were struggling with a specific topic. My tutoring style is to get the student to visualize what is going on and connect it to real life. Before transferring to UCLA, I received my AA in mathematics from Mira Costa College. While attending UCLA, my goal changed dramatically and I ended up focusing on writing, joining a coveted position on the Daily Bruin staff with my sights set [more]
