I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam, and learned more by choosing to take calculus in college before completing my AS in math. I've lived in the San Diego area since 2003. I started out as a student myself at Southwestern College. I majored in math, and while I was taking classes I made extra money working as an independent tutor for elementary and high school students. I found a job at a college bookstore, but I've continued to tutor math on the side. I like helping people to develop an interest in the subject themselves, so that it doesn't seem like work when they're learning. I've foun [more]

I feel satisfied only if my students are successful. I have scored 100% in maths GRE scores. I hold Masters of EE from USC. I am very flexible about cancellation policies and teaching hours. My expertise of Maths is towards engineering. I am great in Geometry, probab... [more]

My love of teaching math came at an early age. In elementary school, I used to play "school" with my little sister and have her complete math worksheets, which I would grade. She was reluctant, as most seven-year-olds would be to do extra math worksheets. But after a couple weeks of this she fully understood fractions and was getting good grades in math! My tutoring continued all throughout college, where I truly gained a passion for helping students succeed in math. I received a Bachelo... [more]

I tutored Calculus 1 and 2 in college in the Math Lab. From my four years of experience with the subject, I became familiar with common problems that were challenging for students and helped guide them to solve them. Calculus 1 is heavily based on earlier math course. I help students by reinforcing their algebraic, geometric and trigonometric skills to show how calculus is just an extension of those classes. . By creating this separation, I have seen students learn Calculus much quicker. While Calculus 2 is much more independent, we focus on the new material and see how the old plays a key rol [more]

Hi, I'm Jim. I've enjoyed a long career in the aerospace business with companies like Boeing, Honeywell, Motorola, Northrop Grumman, and Sikorsky. Most of those jobs required detailed geometry, trigonometry, Excel and Matlab skills. I am entertained by focusing my time using those skills, and sharing them with others. My tutoring method attempts to engage the student in more than just solving the current problem by rote; it is important to me that the student understands the... [more]

I graduated in 2016 with a BS in Applied Physics from CSUSM where I was inducted into the Sigma Pi Sigma National Honors Society of Physics Students. As an undergrad I began I working in physics classes and labs as a TA and found my passion for teaching. After graduating with my BS, I completed a year long teaching credential program through CSUSM and during my credential year I taught High School General Physics, HS AP Physics, Middle School Integrated Science, and tutored many students in... I have been tutoring part time for the past 3-4 years. I mainly tutor high school and undergraduate math and high school physics. Teaching/Tutoring Method: For the most part, I try to focus on helping the student understand the concepts. I have an excellent understanding of the subject and I can break it down to th... [more]

Taught Calculus applied to business problems. Taught general calculus as applied to physics applications. Taught Purdue graduate students advanced calculus techniques for chemistry and physics applications. GRE preparation tutor Math component. Developed theoretical physics calculations of Green's function solutions and stochastic solutions to Boltzmann energy distributions. Recent students are working on AP B/C Physics and physical chemistry requiring calculus and extension to differential equations and discussion of series solutions and limits. [more]
