Calculus, in summary, is the language that links distance with velocity and acceleration, circumference with area and volume, and mass with momentum and kinetic energy. My philosophy is that once you understand the purpose of calculus, you will be more in tune with getting the individual concepts that it requires you to learn in differentiation and integration. That is what I can bring to the table. I have engineered spacecraft, and launch vehicles and aircraft. Calculus directly applies to orbit mechanics in space travel as well as aerodynamics for aircraft. [more]

Hi, I'm Jacob! I'm a senior at Vanderbilt University studying Mechanical Engineering and Spanish. Through years of different courses and professors, I came to realize that the teacher can make all the difference. The passion and energy your teacher conveys about their subject (or lack thereof) can mean the difference between a semester of fun and excitement versus boredom and frustration. I have experience tutoring math, physics, and Spanish, and I hope that my passion for these subjects wil... [more]

I completed Calculus 1-3 in my undergraduate coursework and earned A's in all three courses. I tutored my peers during the time I took the courses and have tutored both Calculus 1 and 2 at the high school and college level over the course of 5 years. I have a special interest in methods of integration, as well as series and sequences. Mathematics has always been my passion, but my love for teaching is what motivates me daily! I have worked as a private tutor for the past 7 years and graduated from the University of Central Florida with my BS in Mathematics last year. I recently moved to Frankl [more]

I am from Tallahassee, Florida. I went to Florida State University and majored in Computational Science with minors in Math, Physics and Meteorology. Through my education I have become proficient in most areas of math, including Calculus, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. My programming proficiencies are in Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran 90, Mathematica and more (please ask for a less known language, I probably have some experience in it). With my degree in Computational Science... [more]

Hi, I'm Trent. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics. I have been tutoring mathematics (mostly algebra) for about seven years now, and I have worked with a wide variety of students, ranging from those who have struggled with math from an early age to those who wanted to get ahead of the rest of their class. During college, I got the opportunity to work with students from different ethnic backgrounds, as well, which allowed m... [more]

Hi, my name is Jake (though, not from State Farm). I hold two degrees in engineering, but life led me to start being a math and science teacher. I actually got my start as a teacher teaching college-level trigonometry and chemistry. I really enjoyed having the large classes and working with very small groups. Something I still enjoy. To make my lessons then and now relevant, I try to bring my students' interests into the lesson. While the students are learning about math and science con... [more]

Calculus is a favorite subject for me because I actually prefer to tutor the more challenging subjects. I tutored for Calculus in a public school setting for years. I have also worked with students in private colleges with "challenging professors". This is a subject I've helped students with in high school and in college. I hold a doctorate in biomedical science and have extensive tutoring and teaching experience. I can tutor persons of any age, including those with disabilities. I am a well-rounded tutor who was elected Who's Who in both undergraduate and graduate studies. I have worked w [more]

I excelled as a senior in high school taking AP Calculus. I scored a five on the Calculus AB Advanced Placement exam. As a public tutor with The University of Tennessee, students would seek daily help in the subject of Calculus levels 1, 2 and 3, and I happily and effectively helped them achieve results and develop their understanding of Calculus. EXPERIENCE: I am an experienced mathematics tutor and mechanical engineering instructor. I have privately tutored for the past 6 years and am proficient in all high school and college-level math, as well as engineering and physics courses. While [more]

I am a retired teacher and coach with over 30 years experience in the classroom mainly in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. Last fall I started tutoring and I have greatly enjoyed the experiences I have had. My students have told me that I was a real help to them. I had one young man who was struggling in Alg 2 and after a few sessions together he scored an 86 on his final. Needless to say both he and mom were happy. I hope I have a chance to help you.... Find the limit, differentiate and integrate functions in this college level subject. My Motto: With each concept I did not know, there?s always a journey. Even if I don't know something, I will strive to learn it. This motto has proven to be very invaluable? even early on throughout high school as I received a full academic scholarship to a well respected and prestigious university. It's an important quality for someone to know a lot, but I find that the most important quality is an undying motivation to help a student get better and to find a common ground so that a studen...
