We will study calculus concepts such as limits and continuity; differentiation and integration of algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, and hyperbolic functions; related rates; and optimization problems. In addition, we will study applications of integration such as volume. I believe students should be confident in their math skills. By getting good grades in school, their options in life (e.g. jobs, career paths) are kept open. I gauge where the student is at in knowing the concepts by having him/her work out the problems. Every problem has two parts: the first is recognizin [more]

Hello, I am Tina. I recently graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Chemistry and I have also received American Chemical Society certification for professional education while at the university. I have been tutoring students in math and science for the past couple of years. I've tutored math subjects ranging from common core mathematics to differential equations. I've also tutored students in chemistry, biology, and physics. I have taught students one on one and have also tutored in aft... [more]

Calculus is the natural language of the sciences--it's very foundations run parallel to most every significant discovery in Physics. I've worked with dozens of students across a number of educational settings: last semester's AP Calculus BC students worked with me on their way to scoring all 5s (which I must admit, made me very proud of all seven of them!); I worked with students in Business Calculus at UCLA, USC, and UCI, as well as a number of online programs; I've worked with dozens of students in their dreaded 'Calculus 3' courses, helping them to conquer ideas like gradients, normals, an [more]

Calculus is a vast subject that begins by building on top of algebra and trigonometry by introducing concepts such as limits and infinite series. It then introduces derivatives and later integration. After those concepts are mastered partial differentiation, multivariate integration, differential equations and differential operators are added. Calculus requires strong math skills in foundational math up through the level of trigonometry, and any holes or weaknesses in those areas need to be addressed. [more]

In 2015, I graduated as a double major in Applied Mathematics and Quantitative Economics with double minors in Statistics and Education. In high school, I passed 8 AP exams and received 5's on Calc AB, Calc BC, Statistics, and Chinese. I have been tutoring students since high school and have had many years of experience tutoring mathematics. Over the years, I have taught both privately and in classroom settings. My favorite part of teaching is making a difference in students' academic succes... [more]

I have seven years experience in tutoring Calculus. I first took Calculus in my sophomore year of high school and received an A and 5 on the AP exam. Since then I have taken seven additional college level math classes and almost received a minor in mathematics. 7 years of tutoring experience in Algebra 1 and 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Physics. I just graduated a year ago from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I got a bachelors in electrical engineering and almost got a minor in math. I've been tutoring math since I was a junior in high school and have also been a personal grader [more]

I have taught and tutored this subject for over twenty-five years. In that time I have a 99% passing rate for students taking the AP test. I also tutor Calculus at the college level. Currently I teach AP Calculus for a local high school. Greetings! My name is Nick, and I have been blessed to be able to tutor math as my full time job since graduating with highest honors from the California State University. Over the past twenty years I have had successful results with over one thousand students in the Orange County area. In addition to tutoring I teach Algebra and Geometry part-time at a l [more]

I have taken all 3 Calculus level courses and passed each with an A. I am a full-time student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education with plans to obtain my teaching credential. I have worked as a tutor at a local community college for the past five years and I LOVE what I do! I am certified through CRLA. My biggest strengths are my patience and ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear and easy to follow way. I am always learning and looking for new techniques that can improve my abilities. My biggest weakness is my tendency to ... [more]
