I have had many years of learning and using calculus in the process of getting three engineering degrees. As a teacher, I have also completed the College Board AP Calculus workshop for teachers, and have tutored in the subject for two years. I have always loved learning, and I want to share that experience with my students. After spending 16 years as a professional scientist in the field of medicine, I have decided to focus on helping my children and other students with their academic quest. I can take the pain out of learning new things, share my enthusiasm and make school interesting. I [more]

My name is Jerry and I've been tutoring all levels of HS and college Math and Physics for the past 7 years. I enjoy helping students, and my students like the way I explain hard to understand concepts in Math and Physics. I believe in a "simplistic" approach to teaching Math and Physics. I strive to teach Math and Physics without a lot of theoretical jargon and I teach a methodical approach to solving problems. While at the University of Arizona, I majored in Nuclear Engineering; I have a... [more]

Greetings, Personal development is a process that occurs at every stage of one?s life and allows one to realize a potential that arises within the heart of our boldest dreams. Tutoring offers a profound level of engagement, wherein both the student and the tutor define and refine goals along their pursuit of excellence. I agree with Howard Gardner?s conclusion that there are multiple learning styles, yet seek to define an accurate means to appeal to a student?s learning style in a man... [more]

I have 15 years of experience teaching both College level Calculus and AP Calculus. I have many practice exams for AP calculus. I have 24 years of experience teaching high school and college level mathematics as well as individualized tutoring. I love helping students figure out mathematics. I really struggled at first and I understand that each student thinks about mathematics differently. My goal is to figure out how each student learns and devise a plan to help that student reach their goals. Two years ago, I helped a junior in high school girl go from crying every time she took a math [more]

I've passed Calculus 1, 2, and 3, as well as the three successors to calculus, Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, and Complex Differential Equations. I have my associates degree in chemistry, and am going for my bachelors of science in chemistry with a minor in environmental studies. I have some (though not a lot of) freelance tutoring experience. My tutoring style includes make-shift visualization of the material and step-by-step mathematical proofs with conceptual understanding in mind. I have some lab experience, and whenever appropriate, I will use my data from these [more]

I am 34 years old. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and am currently working on a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, I am an engineering intern during the summers at NASA. I have been successfully tutoring students in math, physics, and English for over 10 years. All of the students I have worked with have passed their classes with A's or B's. Most of those students had much lower grades when we started - even failing grades. I tutor because I love to ... I've worked as a math tutor for 7 years, both privately and in a group setting. Although I enjoy working in a learning center, I prefer to do one-on-one sessions to tailor my teaching methods to the student. I teach K-12 math and my goal is to make math simple. I can help you or your child with their homework assignments, projects, and test prep as well, including, but not limited to: SAT, ACT and proficiency exams. In addition to teaching math I'm also comfortable tutoring other subjects on ... [more]

The bachelor's degree that I have earned is in mathematics. But before I came to United States, I was teaching Integral Calculus, Discrete Structures, Differential Equations, and Automata Theory at Angeles University Foundation College of Computer Studies. I taught there for 5 years (1995-2000), while I was taking my post-graduate (MS Math) studies. Right now, I'm working as a math teacher in a high school in Henderson. This means that I have a wide range of knowledge in math, and I can ... [more]

MATH, SPSS, Solidworks and Computing are some of the areas that I consider my forte, though I teach other subjects as well. I have had my education with three university degrees, each having extensive use of Mathematics. I have privately tutored students up to college level in the past and resumed this activity, as it gives me sheer joy and fulfillment of being able to share whatever knowledge and insight I may have gained. In a way, sometimes I find I am reliving some of the chapters of my o... [more]

I took calculus as an undergraduate and graduate student in physics and mathematics, including advanced calculus. I have held a Nevada Teaching License for years, and have a PhD in physics and mathematics. Former full-time substitute teacher in various CCSD schools, from elementary to high school. Taught math, science and other subjects. Also tutored for various private tutoring companies, to help students pass the Nevada Mathematics Proficiency Exam, required to obtain a high school diploma.
