I recently graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics in the Fall of 2016 with a 3.2 GPA within my major. During my time there I was a math tutor for the last two years of my undergraduate experience. On an average I tutored 10-20 per week. The mathematics areas that I am the strongest in are any algebra, calculus, statistics or basic math areas. I pride myself on being able to help anyone who struggles with any concept of math and that they unde... [more]

I have a pretty solid background in test taking: 223 PSAT, 1500 Math/Reading SAT score from high school, 99th percentile ASVAB score. I also did fairly well in school without much effort, even making a deal with my dad in high school that if I tutored him in College Algebra to an A, he would pay the insurance on my truck. But the whole time, I hated school, hated the classroom environment, the boredom, the repetitiveness. I kept thinking, why? Why does "learning" in school have to be like... [more]

I graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a B.S. in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering. Wow, that's a mouth full. While at ECSU I took several math classes per semester, such as Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, III, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, and Foundations of Mathematics. In addition to math, I love and am very knowledgeable in history including the areas of World, American, and African American History. In high school, I t... [more]

Hi, my name is Tan. I graduated from High Point University majoring in Actuarial Science and minors in Business Administration, Statistics, and Finance. Math is my passion. I tutored kids aged 7-18 in basic math, geometry, algebra, precalculus, and calculus when I was in High School. Math is fun so I make my lesson interesti... [more]

I have a M.Ed. in Math Education and a M.S. in Mathematical Sciences. I have taught Calculus at the college level and have tutored for both Calc AB and Calc BC as well as college level Calculus. I have over 10 years teaching experience. Hello! I'm Kara. I have one Master's degree in Mathematics Education and one in Mathematical Sciences with a focus on Computation. I have been teaching high school math and computer science courses for 11 years. My favorite part about learning is the moment when a hard concept suddenly makes sense. It is my joy to help students achieve these moments of success [more]

I am a graduate from Clemson University, where I received my bachelor's degree in mathematics. I learned how much I really loved math while at Clemson. I knew I had always enjoyed it growing up, but when I was at Clemson, I began tutoring and helping other students in subjects such as calculus 2. I really enjoyed helping others, and learned quickly that I had the skills to explain problems in ways that would help the students learn the material. After just my first year of tutoring at Clemson... [more]

I began tutoring calculus in 1981. In 1984, I taught calculus workshops to entering Virginia Tech freshman as an undergraduate engineering student to supplement lectures by professors and graduate assistants. I have tutored high school calculus, honors calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. I have tutored college Calculus I, Calculus II, and Calculus III. I am currently tutoring Calculus I and Calculus II. I absolutely love helping people understand math better. I have been tutoring math since my sophomore year at Virginia Tech--eons ago. I have been a 'numbers person' all my life. I [more]

I have been using differential and integral calculus of single and multiple variable(s) ever since high school and especially as an electrical engineering student. I have taken many engineering courses that apply calculus to solving problems including linear time-invariant systems, control systems and RLC circuits. I can help you whether you are learning calculus for the first time in high school or college or if you're taking an engineering course and you need help with the calculus that is required to solve problems. I have taken the AP Calculus AB exam in high school and made a 5 and I have [more]

I have taught calculus on the college level and have been tutoring this subject on a yearly basis. In the classroom situation, it is not uncommon for the student to miss or not completely understand all of the concepts covered. As a tutor I can see where the individual student is having difficulty and concentrate or those concepts. This helps the student understand the material without falling behind, and gives them a better understanding so they can move on with each lesson. I have been a math teacher for over 25 years. I teach every math topic from 4th grade math through college calculus [more]
