I have been tutoring for over 12 years, working with students to achieve their academic goals. Having been recognized in the past as one of Wyzant's Top 100 tutors, I have had the pleasure of helping hundreds of students drastically improve their grades, gain admission to the private schools and universities of their choice, and achieve fantastic results on the PSAT and SAT. A little about me: I attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I was in the Natio... [more]

Calculus is probably one of my most favorite subjects to tutor. I have helped many students in calculus I and calculus II. We begin with the study of limits and go into graphing, differentiation, and the many types of integration. Calculus I and II are used in many subjects including engineering, physics, and computation chemistry. Hi, my name is Faraz, and I would love to be your tutor! I grew up in Mississippi and attended high school there. Ever since I graduated from high school I wanted to come to Texas. When I was 19, I packed up and did. I worked in Texas for a while so that I could [more]

I have many years of experience with calculus. All of my engineering coursework required calculus knowledge, so I have good experience applying calculus to applications. I know many of the tricks to understanding calculus and have used these to tutor several students. I recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, with minors in Chemistry and Classical Studies. I was also the Latin tutor for my university for the last three of my four years in college. I enjoyed being able to help other students with their coursework. I h [more]

I love calculus and believe it to be very interesting. If I can show someone how interesting calculus is then I feel I have done a good job. I love giving people the same understanding of a subject as me. In the 7+ years of experience I have tutoring the one thing I hear time and time again is "I hate math" or "I'm not good at math." I believe this to be nonsense for one particular reason. When I first started college I was an English major who didn't like math very much but as I took more and more math classes I began to enjoy it more and more and eventually got a degree in math and physics. I have tutor experience with many high school students on Calculus AP/BC for more than 10 years. Some of them have entered Rice and UT. I also tutor Calculus including cal1, cal2 and cal3 with UH and Rice students in past couple years. My research involves way much advance math than any high school level. I understand your concern but please don't ask me if I can handle this. I am an experienced Math and Physics tutor. I have more than seven-years tutoring experience from elementary school to college level in math and physics. For math subjects, I am great at geometry, algebra, calculus and di [more]

Why do people need math tutoring? Anyone who knows arithmetic has demonstrated mathematical ability. They are capable of recognizing mathematical concepts, memorizing logical rules, and applying them in the correct context. These abilities should be sufficient to master everything from Algebra through Differential Equations. It's just a matter of time and effort. Admittedly, some areas of study, like Higher Math, may require additional skills. How could it be, though, that so many stud... [more]
