I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in geology with a minor in mathematics. Currently I am working as a laboratory technician at Texas A&M University and I have a flexible schedule. I understand the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to achieve a good understanding of difficult course work, and am happy to help anyone in need of learning. I have experience tutoring middle and high school students in precalculus and calculus. At the college level I have tutored students taking Calc... [more]

I probably tutor this course more than any other. Calculus is basic to any study of more advanced math, so plan to study hard and get a good foundation in it! If you go on and take Differential Equations or other, more advanced subjects you will thank yourself and avoid lots of difficulty (and tutoring!) if you get a good foundation in Calculus. I do tutor more advanced courses, and I know what you will need for them. Ask all the questions you want; I am glad to answer them and I will never make you feel like you shouldn't have asked. Students have trouble with Calculus both because of th [more]

I took a Calculus class in high school, majored in Math in college where I helped other students who struggled. So, unofficially, I guess I can say I've been tutoring this class for a long time. Officially, I've been tutoring it for over three years now. I've tutored both the engineering and business sections of this class, and having worked with over hundreds of students and encountered all sorts of issues from them, I am now fairly confident in diagnosing weaknesses very quickly and prescribing the right dose of teaching and encouragement they need to get the grades they want. Hello! My name is Paul, and I am a recent graduate from the University of North Texas, with a Bachelor in Science in mathematics. I have two years of experience tutoring in the math lab. The math lab is a drop-in tutoring center where students may come in and ask for help in their math classes. Some of these classes include: college algebra, precalculus, calculus I-III, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics. I also have a year of experience as a recitation instructor for the ... [more]

My goal is to help you succeed in all aspects of mathematics. I have and/or currently teach AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP statistics, Dual Credit Statistics, and Algebra 2. I also coach competitive math events. I like to use physical models and plenty of example problems so that the student will not only be able to work problems but understand it in full. For example, tutor the student in a fashion designed with end in mind, in calculus, if you were a business major I would focus on o... [more]

Welcome to my tutor page. I'm a graduate student in Marine Biology at Texas A&M University: Corpus Christi. At TAMUCC I'm working as a teaching assistant and doing my own research at the university looking at fish in the Caribbean. In the past I worked at The Island School as a research teacher. The Island School is a boarding high school where students from around the world come to The Bahamas and learn through place-based education and the process of asking question and using the scientific... "Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning do to do afterward." - Kurt Vonnegut The relationship between the student and tutor is so important for student success. By creating an environment of acceptance, making progress becomes easier. I have taught 6-13th grade Math for 15 years including Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, College Algebra, and College Pre-Algebra. Additionally... [more]

Math has always been the one thing that came natural to me. I grew up in a STEM and business family where crunching numbers was an everyday affair; be it from my accounting mother, economics father, educationalists uncle and aunt, or even from my engineering and science geek uncles! Thankfully the Math love bug bit me and it's one of those things I'll forever be grateful for. I have come to the realization that Math does not come naturally to many people out there and this has made me more p... [more]

I took Calculus as a senior in high school and made straight A's in the class. I often assisted other students outside of class with their understanding of the concepts. I have since taken Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, and Differential Equations & Linear Algebra in college. I would go so far as to say that I have gained additional understanding of Calculus as a whole due to its application in nearly all of my physics courses taken in college as well. I am an undergraduate student at Trinity University pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Physics. I have always loved lea [more]
