I passed the calc AB AP test with a 4, and the calc BC test with a 5. I was the highest placed student in my calc 3 class in college, and have tutored calculus for 5 years. I was the "go to" tutor for calculus support for being the most proficient at it. My name is Seth. I have loved math every since I was a little kid. It was the subject that always made sense to me and I found fun in the ability to solve problems. This passion that I have is shown in my tutoring style. I try to show how math isn't just a lame subject, but try to show how to be enthusiastic about it. I have tutored almost ev [more]

In the process of getting my Physics BS, I took courses in Calculus, Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Partial Differential Equations, and got As in all. A background in basic calculus, and especially trigonometry and algebra, is necessary for the introductory college level physics courses for which I tutored. I was a department tutor for introductory physics courses at Michigan State University and Western Michigan University for four years. I help students make the connections between the mathematical and the physical, to actually understand what equations mean, fo [more]

As an experienced and patient tutor of physics and of math subjects through calculus and college first year linear algebra and differential equations, my great delight is in seeing the "light bulb" of comprehension in my students' faces. These subjects are not as difficult as they often seem to my students before they meet with me. My concrete illustrations and introductory exercises have been highly successful in getting students on track for academic success and in recognizing their own unt... [more]

Calculus is one of the most enjoyable areas of mathematics, and I have enjoyed teaching people how to use calculus for over 30 years. I have received awards for my work with high school students who wanted to learn calculus. I am patient and believe anyone can learn calculus if they are helped and work hard. I have a Ph.D. in physics and was a double major in mathematics and physics in college. I have over 20 years experience tutoring high school students and have received a Certificate of Commendation from the Governor for my service. I have over 25 years experience teaching physics and mathe [more]

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Richmond who is double majoring in Physics and Mathematical Economics with a minor in Math. I am currently an undergraduate research student in a biophysics lab work under a PhD recipient to analyzing fibrins in the body to see their mechanical properties and what those implications mean. I founded and currently run the Robotics Club on campus and have been successful in creating a start-up business for myself. With these abilities ... [more]

I am a teacher and instructor with over 7 years in classrooms with students from the 7th grade through college. My students are extremely successful on every high school end-of-course exam and that success continues in their future math classes. Why? We work together to develop intuition, critical thinking strategies, and perseverance. I have training as a SAT instructor as well.... [more]

I have a Master of science and technology [ M.Sc.Tech] in mathematics and scientific computing. I had calculus in my masters and I taught calculus for undergraduate students. I earned my graduate degree in m.sc. tech. And I have experience with mathematics and scientific computing from the National Institute of Technology in Calicut, India. I also have experience with working as an math teacher for engineering students at national institute of technology Calicut, India for 2 years. I love teaching and am willing to help the student to learn math easily. I taught students at national in [more]

Hello! My name is Vivian and I've had tutoring experience all four years of high school. I recently graduated from Waunakee High School as valedictorian and will double major in neuroscience and economics on a pre-health track at Rice University in the fall of 2017. I began tutoring through my high school as a writing coach for underclassmen. Since then, I have expanded into other subjects, including high-level math and science, Spanish, and social studies courses. During the summer, I a... [more]

I studied pure math at Wisconsin - Madison where I tutored calculus at all levels in the university's drop-in Mathlab for a couple of years. I've been doing some private tutoring since graduation. I've also taught a non-credit, first-semester calculus course (independent of any institution, so a labor of love) which was designed to offer more depth but less breadth than a typical course. The course focused on techniques (as usual) and on understanding and appreciating some of the proofs of the techniques. If you're a UW-Madison student in Calculus II, then I can provide exercises to aid in [more]

I completed calculus in high school and college. The college course was geared toward business and social science majors, and we did the usual derivations, integrations, etc., focusing on applications. I recently completed Calculus III, covering multi-dimensional integration and differentiation, field integration, path and surface integrals, and more. For the past few years, I have worked as a data analyst in the fields of education, health insurance, and health care. I have worked with SPSS, SAS (including the macro language), Excel, Access, and a variety of statistics. My education is in ps [more]
