I have taught and tutored AP Calculus for almost thirty years (1989-present) with tremendous results and a passion that is infectious among students. My AP exam scores were the highest in Tennessee in eight different years since 2001 and consistently ranked among the best in the nation. The hundreds of students with whom I have worked have averaged a 4.5 on the AP test. I can tutor both the AB and BC levels as well as Calc 2. I have educated and inspired college, high school, and middle school students for twenty five years as a mathematics instructor, specializing in calculus but capable of t [more]

"A picture is worth a thousand words." As a visual learner, expect to see fun diagrams, pictures, and relevant analogies/real world applications from me as a tutor rather than paragraphs of text or lines of equations. I believe that all knowledge must be broken down into its simplest components, visualized, and applied before one can achieve mastery. And, once such a level of understanding is earned, it can last a lifetime and be applied in seemingly unrelated subjects. So, I will often a... [more]

I scored a 5 on both the AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC exams in high school. In addition, I am currently taking Calculus III, which helps to reinforce the concepts learned in single variable calculus. I am an undergraduate sophomore at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN majoring in Electrical Engineering. My parents always stressed the importance of education, and my own experiences in high school and college have helped me to better appreciate the value of learning. As a college student myself, I realize that students may have difficulty learning a certain subject due to a variety of [more]

Calculus, in summary, is the language that links distance with velocity and acceleration, circumference with area and volume, and mass with momentum and kinetic energy. My philosophy is that once you understand the purpose of calculus, you will be more in tune with getting the individual concepts that it requires you to learn in differentiation and integration. That is what I can bring to the table. I have engineered spacecraft, and launch vehicles and aircraft. Calculus directly applies to orbit mechanics in space travel as well as aerodynamics for aircraft. [more]

I am a Data Scientist and a Physics PhD. I have taught undergraduate physics courses at University of Texas and led laboratory sessions. I am good at explaining seemingly complex concepts in reasonably easy-to-understand ways. You will get the most out of your money if I tutor you. So, send me an email!... [more]

I have a very diverse education comprised of several branches of sciences. My basic degree is in Physics with Mathematics and Chemistry as my ancillary subjects. I also received rigorous training in accounting and business management. I have a Masters? degree in Advanced Physics with specializations in Solid State Physics, Optics and Astrophysics. I continued my education in the field of biophysics/biochemistry and I was awarded a PhD with specialization in Structural Biology of Plants an... [more]

I have worked as a chemistry and math tutor for a few years now, and I would be delighted to help you or your child. Every person learns differently. My goal is to figure out what areas or topics are not sinking in and relay the information in a different way that makes sense for the individual. Sometimes it takes extra attention and trying different approaches to learn complicated subjects such as chemistry or calculus. I try to break down the material into concepts that are easy to understa... [more]

I am a senior at Vanderbilt University and have studied hard my entire life. I love helping other people understand concepts, especially since teaching is the best method of reinforcing knowledge. I'm excited to help students improve their skills and comprehend the material they are studying instead of just memorizing it. I believe that school should not be a test of memorization, but rather a chance to improve upon oneself and expand your brain's capacity and your personal potential at th... [more]

Calculus tutor since 2012, Calculus instructor at university level for 2 semesters I have an M.S. in Mathematics. I started tutoring in the Middle Tennessee area in 2012 and I have loved every moment of it. Starting out with basic mathematics, I have now taught a variety of subjects including mathematics (elementary school to Master's level), physics (I,II), chemistry (I,II), and engineering (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials etc.). My teaching philosophy is that students must be taught how to think about the given subject and develop intuition, and the grades wi... [more]
