I took Calculus I, II, and III at Norco College. Also, I occasionally tutored people in Calculus at Norco College. More recently, I taught a student the first few chapters of her calculus book to prepare her for taking Calculus BC at her high school. My passion for mathematics began when I was in 11th grade. As a homeschooled student, I had a flexible schedule which allowed me to take Algebra II at Norco College. I had an amazing professor who made me realize how fun math is. After that, I decided to major in math. In May 2012, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor's in Mathematics. [more]

With a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, I have mastered a variety of math and science subjects, and I enjoy helping others grasp those same concepts. Through teaching large college classes, tutoring one-on-one, and grading assignments, I have learned to look at problems and concepts from many different angles. This skill allows me to teach you the way you learn--whatever those learning styles may be. Much of teaching involves answering the question, ?why??: why does one approach work, while ... [more]

I have experience tutoring limits, derivatives, integrals, implicit differentiation, related rates, etc. I have a BS in Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. I also attended California State University, San Marcos as a graduate student in Mathematics; the degree is incomplete and I discontinued the program. I've been tutoring since December 2013. I've tutored all ages, K through college. I'm currently employed as a tutor in a group center and so I will have to work around that schedule. Calculus can be tough. Indeed, learning how to deal with the mental knots frustration we tie ourselves in is just as important as understanding how to derive the limit definition of the derivative. With my holistic approach, I help my students with calculus, yes, but I help them even more to learn how to teach themselves. This is my gift. Kathryn is a professional private tutor who spends her life helping students understand tough concepts in math and science. She is an aficionado of these subjects herself, having spent a rigorous four years at Harvey Mudd College, where she received her BS in [more]

I love Calculus, plain and simple. These were my favorite classes. I scored A's and B's in every Calculus class I have ever taken. I explain concepts then show examples when I tutor Calculus. I am a young college student who is majored in Mathematics. I enjoy helping students understand math because it is my favorite subject. I have an Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from CSUSB of Fall 2016. I can tutor, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus and above. I have taken a class that covers the theory of tutoring at MSJC, this class will granted me a tuto [more]

My first year of calculus was in high school. Based on my advanced placement exam and exams administered by the Georgia Institute of Technology, I received advanced placement in college. I studied calculus and more advanced math for six years as an undergraduate and graduate engineering student. I have been tutoring math for about 1.5 years now, after retiring as an engineer. As an engineering student, I took six years of undergraduate and graduate-level college math. Regarding content, my coursework covered the spectrum, covering trig, probability, calculus, linear algebra, and advanced e [more]
