I have taught both AP Calculus at the high school level and Calculus I at the university level. I have a Masters in Mathematics Education from Southern Arkansas University. I have taught math for over 10 years on a variety of levels. From 5th grade math all the way to university level math, I love teaching the basics as well as algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus. Math is more than just memorizing formulas; math is about critical thinking and problem solving skills. During my 10+ years of teaching experience, I have helped students raise math ACT scores significantly, imp... [more]

I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam in high school and have since taken multivariable calculus and beyond. I am a graduate of Tulane University where I received my BS and MS in Neuroscience. During completion of these degrees, I undertook rigorous coursework in mathematics and biological sciences, including courses on the philosophy of science and mathematical modeling. I have extensive tutoring experience and have worked with Sylvan Learning Center, volunteered at local schools as a tutor, and met with students for one-on-one tutoring. I also have a small personal library of education [more]

I have taught and tutored calculus for almost 10 years. I have worked with many students who needed a strong boost to their confidence as well as a desire to improve their grades. Being a Ph.D. math student has greatly improved my math comprehension in all areas, and I can draw from a lot of experience to aid students in their study. I grew up in the Midwest and studied civil and architectural engineering in college, where I helped my classmates with their math problems. I realized it was something I enjoyed doing and started tutoring anyone who needed the help. I liked making people feel comf [more]

I've always excelled academically, and I have a passion for sharing that experience with others. There is no greater thrill for me than the satisfaction of a job well-done. While completing both my Bachelor's and Master's of Arts in a single four-year timespan, I learned the value of hard work, time management, and most importantly, having a fantastic support system. I would not have achieved what I did without the help of my teachers and advisors, and now I want to pass that on to others. M... [more]

My name is Mike and I have a B.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland College Park. I find the natural sciences to be incredibly interesting and I've always been quick with math, so naturally I fell into physics. I have previous tutoring experience and have additionally spent this summer working at a science summer camp teaching elementary and middle school kids science! I believe the key to success in math and science is both patience and perseverance. As a tutor, not only do I try... [more]

Kumon Math and Reading Center was my first tutoring job. Kumon helps students get academically ahead of their peers in their regular schools. Because of this, students have confronted me with Kumon math assignments on material that they have not yet learned in their regular schools. It was my responsibility to teach them these new concepts. I have also worked with ESL and special needs students at Kumon. I have worked with Kumon for three years. I have also been self-employed as a priva... [more]

I began studying calculus in high school and received a "5" on the AP Calculus AB exam. I studied calculus again in college where I received A's in calculus I and II. I also have experience in tutoring calculus in college, which required grading homeworks and preparing tutoring sessions for small groups. "If it were easy, everyone would do it." Math isn't easy. Maybe for a precious few it's easy (and even for them there are some problems that are too hard to crack!), but for most of us it takes lots of practice. I'd put myself in the latter category. I consider myself fortunate to be able to g [more]

My academic career so far involves several courses in math, applied math (including advanced engineering math) and statistics, that contain core and advanced concepts in calculus. I have also tutored students taking Calculus I, Calculus II and Pre-Calculus courses. I am pursuing Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Throughout my academic career so far, I have taken many applied math and engineering math courses that have helped shape my understanding of Mathematics. I have worked as a Math Tutor for the Athletics Department at my university wherein I have tutored students taking various [more]

I have been teaching high school math for 10 years and have been tutoring students for about that long as well. I have a BS in Math from LSU and an MS in Math from UNO. I currently teach Algebra 2 and Statistics, but I have taught and/or tutored everything from elementary school math up to Calculus 2. ... [more]

I have an MS in mathematics from the University of New Orleans. I have mastered calculus at all levels. I am enrolled as a PhD student in Biostatistics. I currently hold a Master of Science in mathematics (statistics). My areas of expertise are probability and statistics, high school math (algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus), college math (pre-calculus and calculus), and micro-economics. The method I have found works best is to have the student try to identify why the class is not going well. Often students get behind and get frustrated and say "I don't get it." This is not a good way to app [more]
