Calculus is where all the math you have learned in school comes together. Sometimes calculus texts can be hard to understand, so I use online tools to provide extra explanation, practice and assessment of skills through the course. Hi. I have taught Calculus 1 & 2, and I have tutored Calculus 3 (multivariable calculus) many times during the last 11 years. I enjoy tutoring even more than teaching math at the university level. One-on-one students learn so much faster, because I can explain things in a way that make the most sense for that particular student. I have been teaching math at the university level for four years. I have been tutoring high school and college level students for over ten years. The overwhelming majority of students happily report that I explain things very well. Hi! My name is Sara, and I'm a Math and Science Tutor - but if need be, I can be a tutor in other academic subjects as well! I have been tutoring since high school, and the kids I have tutored have had their grades go up. I'm not trying to say that I'm an amazing teacher, I just think I have a thorough understanding of what I tutor, and thus I can get others to understand this as well. I just recently graduated in Mechanical Engineering, so my best subjects are, of course, Math and Science, b... [more]

I have had positive experiences teaching growing minds both differential and integral calculus. Many times students have learning difficulties with calculus because some of their algebra is faulty, perhaps they don't understand their teacher, or the class pace is too fast. I always start by evaluating and correcting a student's algebra, then for clarity relate calculus topics back to the algebra and geometry the students have already had. I emphasize easy-to-understand teaching and support the students' homework and preparation for quizzes and tests. [more]
