Calculus is easily my favorite mathematical discipline. It combines the abstract thinking of algebra, the real-world application of engineering and physics, and the elegance of language. I believe that I can demonstrate to any student how interesting calculus really is and in the process develop a total mastery of the topic. I received a score of 5 on the AP Calculus B/C exam, and was deemed both a National AP Scholar as well as National Merit Scholar in high school. I hold a Master's in Applied & Theoretical Mathematics from Cal State Channel Islands and a BA from UC Berkeley in Political S [more]

Calculus can be a scary word for a lot of people. Not for me. I enjoy making Calculus into simple problems and analogies. Multivariable Calculus was the first class I taught. I have been tutoring Calculus for over ten years. Each year I volunteer with the local high schools to help prep their students for the AP calculus exam. I worked for 3 years as a MESA Facilitator creating lessons for outside study for Calculus. in 2012 I tutored 10% of Calculus AB class at a local high school. They all passed mostly with A's. I have passion for calculus and making easier and more understan [more]

Currently I am a teacher of Chemistry and Physics at a CA High School. Previously I have been an educational professional for 40 years, starting as a teacher of Math and Physics in High school to AP/1st year undergraduate level and I hold teaching credentials in both California and the UK. Later I taught Chemistry (the subject of my degree) to the same standard. I have many former students who have studied at the top UK Universities; Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Durham, Imperial London and so ... [more]

Hi my name is Craig and I love math. I graduated with honors from the University of California Santa Barbara, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences. Education is important to me as I feel it is the foundation for a successful life. I like to volunteer for my community, so teaching greatly appeals to me because it is rewarding and satisfying to see students progress through a difficult class or problem and be happy with their results. I love critical think... [more]

My name is Nicholas R. I am currently mathematics undergraduate at UC Santa Cruz. I have taken high level math courses up to vector calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. In the past, I have been an AVID tutor at a High School. There I helped students in algebra 2 and precalculus. I also have experience with one one one tutoring. My main focus in tutoring is making sure my students understand the material thoroughly. I help students so that they are able to complete problems ... [more]

I have been tutoring this subject since 2005, and have a strong educational background in higher math. I am qualified to tutor both AP AB/BC and college calculus. Hi, I'm Byron, and I'm glad that I can get the chance to work with you. I have been tutoring professionally and privately since 2005. I have worked with many students from Ventura College, CSUCI, and local high schools over the years in many different subjects. My teaching experience includes work at the high school and college level, in Math and Physics. I am proficient in all levels of math through the community college level, and [more]

If you were stranded on a deserted island, could you reinvent Algebra? Calculus? Trigonometry? I could! Not that that would be the most practical thing to do, but once you understand the basic concepts, you will be able to do the same. I am a strong believer in understanding concepts and knowing fundamentals, NOT in doing math by rote. I will certainly help you get your homework done and get better grades, but I will also make sure that you understand it! I teach students techniques... [more]

I have tutored all calculus series at the MESA center at Ventura College for about 2 years. I tutored college students that struggled to either understand the graphical meaning of the mathematical expressions or the mathematical reasoning of every method behind any problem being solved. I have taken all calculus series at a college level and got A's in all of them. I emphasize a lot the connection between a mathematical expression and its graphical representation because calculus can only be understood entirely when both of these aspects are mastered. [more]

Master?s degree in engineering I have Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I had fellowship from university while I was doing my Master's degree, doing researches in this field. I took my Master's degree from Florida International University which is an accredited university in USA. I love to teach a subject which I feel very comfortable about. Math, Physics and Chemistry are the subjects which I love them and I am very willing to teach them.I used to teach different problems to my classmates and th... [more]

I am a private tutor located in New York seeking to tutor students at all levels - Grade school all to College. Areas of expertise include: science (including psychology), history, math, geography, statistics, and social science (anthropology, sociology, etc). I can also assist with Spanish and English/Writing. My approach is pretty straightforward: to help the student understand HOW or WHY rather than simply WHAT. This involves patiently seeking multiple ways of explanation and presenting... [more]
