Calculus is easily my favorite mathematical discipline. It combines the abstract thinking of algebra, the real-world application of engineering and physics, and the elegance of language. I believe that I can demonstrate to any student how interesting calculus really is and in the process develop a total mastery of the topic. I received a score of 5 on the AP Calculus B/C exam, and was deemed both a National AP Scholar as well as National Merit Scholar in high school. I hold a Master's in Applied & Theoretical Mathematics from Cal State Channel Islands and a BA from UC Berkeley in Political S [more]

I have tutored all calculus series at the MESA center at Ventura College for about 2 years. I tutored college students that struggled to either understand the graphical meaning of the mathematical expressions or the mathematical reasoning of every method behind any problem being solved. I have taken all calculus series at a college level and got A's in all of them. I emphasize a lot the connection between a mathematical expression and its graphical representation because calculus can only be understood entirely when both of these aspects are mastered. [more]

Hi my name is Craig and I love math. I graduated with honors from the University of California Santa Barbara, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences. Education is important to me as I feel it is the foundation for a successful life. I like to volunteer for my community, so teaching greatly appeals to me because it is rewarding and satisfying to see students progress through a difficult class or problem and be happy with their results. I love critical think... [more]

Calculus can be a scary word for a lot of people. Not for me. I enjoy making Calculus into simple problems and analogies. Multivariable Calculus was the first class I taught. I have been tutoring Calculus for over ten years. Each year I volunteer with the local high schools to help prep their students for the AP calculus exam. I worked for 3 years as a MESA Facilitator creating lessons for outside study for Calculus. in 2012 I tutored 10% of Calculus AB class at a local high school. They all passed mostly with A's. I have passion for calculus and making easier and more understan [more]

If you were stranded on a deserted island, could you reinvent Algebra? Calculus? Trigonometry? I could! Not that that would be the most practical thing to do, but once you understand the basic concepts, you will be able to do the same. I am a strong believer in understanding concepts and knowing fundamentals, NOT in doing math by rote. I will certainly help you get your homework done and get better grades, but I will also make sure that you understand it! I teach students techniques... [more]

I took AP calculus in high school. Did well and have been teaching others calculus since then. I did calculus III in college and got straight As in my math classes. I really like math and am actually passionate about it. It really helps me figure out things and put things into quantities and numbers. I started tutoring 6 years ago. I needed something flexible as I was furthering my education in neurobiology, physiology, and behavior. Now I need something flexible while I build a business! I hope to one day become a multiple business owner like Marcus Lemonis. I love math and science. I have pa [more]

Hi! I've been a tutor since high school, though my first paying tutoring gig turned up after I'd graduated and moved away for college. I've worked at college tutoring centers, private academies, and independently. My experience at tutoring centers was as a drop-in tutor -- students could arrive at the tutoring center without having made an appointment to get help with their homework, prepare for a quiz or exam, or master a particularly difficult lesson. At the private academy, I was an SAT i... [more]
