Calculus is the main area I teach! I love the logic and every day applications I find in this field. I'm sure when students understand it they would be excited about it as I am! Let's get started! Hi future students and parents!!! My name is Aki, and I was a Physics/Calculus teacher at a small private school located in San Diego. Now, I've relocated to Portland and am a full time tutor, dedicating all my attention to the success of each and every student I have. I've started tutoring in 2012 at a prestigious tutoring facility. There I had the opportunity to teach a group of high school stude [more]

My entire life I have enjoyed teaching and helping others. Throughout high school and college, friends came to me for help in all subject areas; my teachers even grouped me with struggling students so that I could help them through difficult concepts and class work. After high school I attended the University of Oregon for a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Mathematics, and a GPA of 3.67. In tutoring, I first focus on understanding exactly what a student is having trouble with, then use a ... [more]

I have tutored high school (both AB & BC) and college calculus for two years. I've also graded practice AP tests for a private agency, so I know what the test looks like. The AB course is a solid introduction to calculus, including limits, derivatives, and integrals. The BC course is substantially harder, covering all the AB material plus harder methods of integration, series and Taylor series, and a few smaller things. It takes some real work, but it is worth it! Calculus is many people's first taste of "real" math. Note, I do not teach multivariable calculus. [more]

I would be more than happy to be your next tutor. I know that I can bring my strong educational and professional experiences to generate logical connections between the beautiful language of Mathematics and Physics. My educational experiences has lead to understanding nature at the "nano" level and further into the Quantum level while using a full range of Mathematics to conceptualize and describe each problem. In addition with my research background in atomic and nano physics, I know the imp... [more]

I excelled in calculus. I tutored calculus during grad school as well as instructed business calculus activities. Hello! I started tutoring as a graduate student at Uni and later became an instructor there. It was then with my coworkers that I learned how rewarding helping students can be. Not only because I love what I have learned, but I also love discussions about said material. My coworkers and I always welcomed students to our office for questions even if they were not our students. Helping a student truly understand the material is one rewarding aspect of tutoring and teaching. If you wa [more]

I have had coursework in advanced calculus, differential equations, vector algebra, numerical methods, and other classes at the Oregon Institute of Technology, where I was also employed in their tutoring center for these classes as well as algebra and trigonometry. I have also tutored extensively since. I have also been employed as a calculation auditor for major class actions lawsuits. ! Due to health problems, I am temporarily unavailable for tutoring.! For many years I've tutored math, been employed as a mathematician, and worked on mathematical discoveries. I've worked wonders with studen [more]

I'm a Mechanical Engineer with five years of working experience who has always been drawn to helping others understand math and physics. This started in high school when I helped two of my closest friends gain a better understanding for physics. I am a big believer that different people learn in different ways, and I enjoy figuring out how to adjust the concept to the student rather than the other way around. By far my greatest passion and understanding lies in mathematics, though I am happy ... [more]

Hi. My name is Ben. I'm a soon-to-be graduated math major. I have a few years of experience tutoring K - 12 math for Mathnasium. I'm very aware that many students struggle in math. So I do my best to help them overcome their hurdles. I explain math problems and solutions in a step-by-step that's easy to follow. What I love most about tutoring is helping students become more confident in solving problems and seeing their sighs of relief when they realize a seemingly impossible problem is in... [more]

My fall schedule is filling up. I have a couple of random evening times for ?math emergencies.? I have morning and early afternoon times. Due to the time difference, this works very well for East Coast students online. A bit about me... I didn't start out with the thought of being a teacher. I followed my heart...my passion for math. I have a Master of Science in Teaching Mathematics and I emphasize the teaching. I have been teaching at the college level for the past 20+ years and tuto... [more]

I have currently taken Calculus (Differential, Integration, Multi-variable, And Vector) while also have taken both Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations which were all passed with 95+% in each course. I understand how to approach and explain topics involved in these areas. I am a current Mathematics Major aiming for a PhD in mathematics. My main goal for my education as an extension of my style of learning is based around Analytic and Geometric visualizations of mathematical concepts. My goal down the road is to create a program which focuses on helping students grapple with Mathematical [more]
