I have been a math tutor in the SLO area since 1998, teaching math in California since 1979. I have taught all of Cuesta's math classes from arithmetic (Math 003 at Cuesta) through pre-calculus (Math 242) for the last 25 years. I also was the Math Lab coordinator for 12 years (until the program was discontinued due to budgetary constraints) where I tutored everything from arithmetic (Math 003) through second semester calculus (Math 265B). I have helped former students all over the state who thanked me for helping them be successful in their math classes. My wife tells me that she can... [more]

Having tutored Calculus students for over 10 years with great success, I am well qualified to teach or tutor the material. I have helped many students go from failing to excelling in their Calculus classes, and seen most of them receive 4s and 5s on their AP tests. I am still pursuing my first Bachelor's but have taken all standard math classes up through Calculus III (Vector Calculus) and several other odds and ends such as Discrete Math and Linear. There is a plethora of experienced tutors available to you, but here are some of the things that set me apart: *Perfect SAT/SAT II scores - In [more]

I have taught and tutored calculus for the last eight years. I have helped students with AP Calculus classes as well as college calculus. Teaching is not a profession but a calling for me. I graduated from Occidental College in the spring of 2010 with a degree in mathematics. I took extensive classwork in all areas of mathematics. My expertise is in applied math which is where my physics knowledge stems from. Following my graduation from Occidental in 2010 I have taken several business classes at local city colleges and been working. I currently work at a tutoring center running the after school high school math class where I tutor all levels of high school math, chemistry,... [more]

I've completed math up to linear analysis 2, and have tutored for calculus many times. I'm a mechanical engineering major with a music minor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. My strengths are math and science, although I can help with history and English (I write poetry and songs in my free time). I've been tutoring my peers and younger students since my freshman year in high school - that was 5 years ago. I attended an LAUSD highly gifted high school. Tutoring is all about filling in the gaps in understanding what was taught in the classroom. Sometimes it just takes a new... [more]

I have taken honors and AP Calculus in high school, and Calculus I, II, and III at the University of Florida, as well as differential equations at UF. I use calculus in my graduate coursework here at UCSB. Hello! I am a PhD candidate in the Materials Department at UCSB in my third year. In my undergraduate at the University of Florida, I tutored middle school math at Howard Bishop Elementary, and I am looking to get back into tutoring. I really enjoyed helping students, both those who were ahead and those who needed extra attention. As I am new to tutoring in Santa Barbara, I am seeking to [more]
