I have been a math tutor in the SLO area since 1998, teaching math in California since 1979. I have taught all of Cuesta's math classes from arithmetic (Math 003 at Cuesta) through pre-calculus (Math 242) for the last 25 years. I also was the Math Lab coordinator for 12 years (until the program was discontinued due to budgetary constraints) where I tutored everything from arithmetic (Math 003) through second semester calculus (Math 265B). I have helped former students all over the state who thanked me for helping them be successful in their math classes. My wife tells me that she can... [more]

I am currently a 4th year medical student at Nova Southeastern University. I previously graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in biological sciences (honors) with an emphasis in immunology. I have performed exceptionally well on numerous standardized tests including: 1) Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) | Score: 38 (99th percentile) 2) Dental Admissions Test (DAT) | Score: 24 (99th percentile) 3) United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Step 1 | Sc... Hi, I'm Eric. I'm a student at Allan Hancock College, working on my Computer Science Degree. As Vice President, and now Mentor, of the Santa Ynez High School robotics team, I've had many opportunities to teach kids about math and science. I know how many different kinds of kids think, and how to adapt a lesson to fit their needs. I also like to add in real-world applications of concepts to keep the kids interested. I've had a love for math all my life, and that's something I want to use to ... [more]

My education: B.S. in Physics from California Institute of Technology (Caltech). I spent two years in the graduate physics program at UC Irvine during which I gained extensive experience tutoring and as a lab and discussion section TA for undergraduate physics courses. I enjoy teaching and have significant experience tutoring in physics, calculus, algebra, and other topics. I am good at explaining things using pictures and examples.... [more]

I'm a rising second year at the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in physics. My main experience in tutoring comes from an organization called Citizen Schools, where I worked with low-income students after school to help them reach their full academic potential. As a relatively recent high school graduate, I understand the struggles that students may face and am better poised to help them navigate what can potentially be a turbulent time. Working with other people on proble... [more]

I've been studying calculus since I was a freshman in high school, it's one of my favorite subjects in mathematics. It's also used extensively in physics an EECS which were my majors at MIT, so my familiarity with the subject is high. I am a Ph.D student studying condensed matter experimental physics at UCSB. I did my undergraduate work at MIT where I completed several research projects and co-headed the team that won 1st place in the international theoretical physics Olympiad. When I was in high school I scored an 800 on the Math level II SAT and I scored a 5 on both AP calculus tests. I [more]

I have taught and tutored calculus for the last eight years. I have helped students with AP Calculus classes as well as college calculus. Teaching is not a profession but a calling for me. Ever since college I have been tutoring and helping students excel in their studies and acquire a love of learning. I hold degrees in education and psychology from Sofia University and have studied at Oxford University. A versatile tutor, I offer assistance in a wide variety of subjects - all levels of mathematics (elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, statistics, pre-calculus, and calcu [more]

Having tutored Calculus students for over 10 years with great success, I am well qualified to teach or tutor the material. I have helped many students go from failing to excelling in their Calculus classes, and seen most of them receive 4s and 5s on their AP tests. I am still pursuing my first Bachelor's but have taken all standard math classes up through Calculus III (Vector Calculus) and several other odds and ends such as Discrete Math and Linear. There is a plethora of experienced tutors available to you, but here are some of the things that set me apart: *Perfect SAT/SAT II scores - In [more]

I graduated from Occidental College in the spring of 2010 with a degree in mathematics. I took extensive classwork in all areas of mathematics. My expertise is in applied math which is where my physics knowledge stems from. Following my graduation from Occidental in 2010 I have taken several business classes at local city colleges and been working. I currently work at a tutoring center running the after school high school math class where I tutor all levels of high school math, chemistry,... [more]

What's up! I'm Ron, and I am a second year student at UCSB with over 6 years of tutoring experience in a broad range of subjects. I love meeting new people and help them get passed their own personal and academic roadblocks. I specialize in Physics and Computer Science but am very well versed in statistics, math, and chemistry. Some of my inspirations include Dan (the Man) Fullerton, FlippingPhysics, and Minute Physics. (They're all on Youtube, you should definitely check them out). I love to... [more]
