I've taught single variable & multivariable calculus both as a classroom teacher and as a tutor since 2004 (I still hold current Calif HS teaching credentials in math). My greatest strength as a tutor (beyond really knowing the subjects I tutor) is my ability to adapt to and match the way you learn. A close second is my ability to take abstract concepts and make them much more understandable. I don?t do ?tricks? since it takes as much effort to memorize tons of tricks as it does to actually learn the stuff (though I do have plenty of ideas on how to do things more easily). What I do do is teac [more]

Hello! My name is David, and I hope to be the tutor you are looking for. I have almost 10 years of tutoring experience in all math subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Probability and Statistics. I have also helped students out with their coursework in Physics and Finance. When I am tutoring, I enjoy getting to know the student and understanding the way the student learns. From my experience, I have found many creative ways of explaining common proble... [more]

Hello prospective students (and parents, spouses, or loved ones), My goal as a tutor is not just to teach you just enough to let you pass that next exam. I work with my students so that they not only know the material that we are covering, but also so that they understand the meaning of the material, the background behind it, and how to apply it in the real world. This allows for my students to handle those really difficult problems where they have to not just recite what was learned, but us... [more]

Since earning my B.A., M.Ed., and secondary teaching credential at U.C.L.A., I have taught and tutored students for more than twenty years at the middle school, high school, and community college levels. Additionally, I served as a lead instructor at the AP Institute for another 7 years presenting one-week, summer instruction for new AP? Calculus teachers.. I utilize "Calculus in Motion" and other forms of technology to animate Calculus, thus, [more]

Emma regularly tutors Calculus I, II, and III (multivariable). She has helped several adult students regain fundamental math skills and return to school for advanced degrees. She also tutors AP Calculus AB and BC. Hello! I?m Emma - cat photographer? French macaron baker? and engineering tutor. I tutor structural engineering and other civil or mechanical engineering courses. If you are studying statics, dynamics, strength of materials, or structural analysis, I can help! I helped students to get 5 in AP Calculus AB and BC test. When I was a student, I got scholarship in recognition of outstanding achievement in advanced math. I took total 5 calculus classes and all passed with A+. Later on, I was hired as an advanced tutor at tutor center to help higher level students. I have been tutoring for a long time. I was hired as a TA and provided assistance to professors and students. I was also a math tutor in the Tutor Center of Science and Mathematics in community college. I solved many students' questions and held numerous review sessions. In addition, I also assi [more]

I've always had a natural inclination for mathematics, and enjoyed the experience of helping others to understand the concepts involved. As a UC student studying physics, I tutored classmates for pizza money, and have since helped three baby brothers and a handful of family friends through their middle and high school math and science classes - the oldest of whom is now attending Berkeley. My goal when tutoring is always to nourish the intuitive feeling for numbers that can make the subje... [more]

I took calculus 2 in college and tutored it for 3 years while working in a college match center. I have worked at Chaffey Community College Math Success center for 3 years (2008-2011). During that time, I tutored all math courses ranging from prealgebra through multi-variable calculus (Calc III) and some differential equations and linear algebra. I also tutored physics, both for non-science majors and science majors. I have tutored many students in the advertised subjects, and received many good remarks directly from those students. Contact me if you need help with some topics. ... [more]

I took a year of Calculus at college. I help students understand limits, finding derivatives of algebraic and trigonometric functions, the Chain Rule, antiderivatives, definite integrals, calculating areas and volumes of figures, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. I am familiar with Math 7 at SMC. I am a full-time tutor with over 9 years and 2900 hours of experience just on Wyzant's platform. This is not my second job or an opportunity to make extra money for college; this is my profession. It allows me to be more reliable, consistent, and flexible with my scheduling.
