1) I took the CBEST in order to become a teacher and I received a near perfect score on the math portion. 2) Most of the test is either basic math or basic algebra. I have taught basic math, algebra, geometry, and algebra 2 at the high school level for 20 years. 3) I have qualified myself as a teacher of mathematics by successfully completing the CSET for both Algebra and Geometry. Again, I received near perfect scores. I am a high school math teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching algebra, geometry, and algebra 2. I am comfortable working with students of any age, level, or [more]

I have a Master's Degree in Pure Math and a Master's in Education. I can tutor a Math portion of any standardized test. What engenders a love of math? How can the door to its beautiful and fun aspects to be opened onto the numbers and their qualities, then remain open through algebra and beyond? Or, how and why do fear and lack of confidence close that door? A child-centered, developmental key can open that door. I am happy to help your child develop a sense of confidence, enthusiasm and capacity that will permeate all math lessons and tests. I have been teaching for the last 20 years, and I [more]

I received my B.A. degree many years ago. Recently, thinking I might apply to be a substitute teacher, I took the CBEST exam. Many of the people taking the test that day were experienced teachers who had failed the test previously, some more than once. I took it and got a very high score the first time! I never did apply to be a substitute teacher, but I am certain I can help any current or prospective teacher prepare for this test. People have told me for years that I'm a born teacher. I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and have a wide variety of educational and work expe [more]

I hold a multiple subjects credential and single subject credentials for math and Spanish in the state of California. I passed the CBEST when I began teaching on an emergency credential in January of 2008. Later, I passed the three CSET exams (California Subject Examination for Teachers) for my multiple subjects credential which covers all of the subjects included in the CBEST exam, but does so more extensively. I have also passed three CSETs each for math and Spanish and the RICA exam for reading instruction, giving me experience with test preparation and test taking strategies. [more]

The CBEST is the first of several tests that are required to become a teacher. I scored very high on this test and then went on to twenty years of successful teaching. I am very good at test taking. I am a retired math teacher with a very broad educational background which includes over 100 hours of postgraduate work. I will be a good tutor for the CBEST. I have 22 years experience in classroom teaching and tutoring. I am credentialed to teach any math or science course up to grade 12. I can also tutor many math, science, and social science college courses. I love working with mid [more]
