Math guru...taking the stress out of math one session at a time

I have taught the math sequences, Math 211, 212, and 213 (Oregon Colleges) and Math 120 and 121 (Washington Colleges), required for teaching degrees. These classes prepare students for the CBEST exam. The math section contains 50 multiple-choice questions that assess cumulative knowledge of the mathematics traditionally taught in elementary and high school and, sometimes, in college. These questions come from three broad categories: arithmetic, algebra, and measurement and geometry. I can help you with techniques to be more successful when taking the CBEST exam. [more]

I passed the CBEST test in order to qualify for an Oregon Teaching License. I have been tutoring students in SAT prep for 6 years, and general English tutoring for 10. I taught remedial High School English. I'm a writer, published in 3 poetry anthologies, several published Book reviews and articles in small local publications. I love tutoring, and I regard the SAT as a valuable test for several reasons. The SAT offers students the opportunity to practice college level skills and to rehearse for test taking in general. Writing under pressure, reading for content, usi... [more]

I feel that I am fully qualified to tutor people on the CBEST exam because I took the CBEST exam myself in 2006. I was required to take the CBEST as part of the Graduate Teacher Education Program at Portland State University, and to prepare for student teaching that fall. I do not recall my exact CBEST score, but I did pass it and received a score in the average to above average range. Hello! My name is Andrew, and I am a skilled and experienced writing and reading tutor. I have a Master's in Education from Portland State University and a Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism from State Universit [more]

Timely Math and Business Learning Made Fun

I'm an Oregon certified teacher in Advanced Math. I took and passed the CBEST as one of the prerequisites for getting into George Fox University's Master of Arts in Teaching program. Let?s face it, human nature drives us to choose the activities that we find enjoyable, worthwhile, and that we possess a certain level of confidence in our ability to succeed with. Lacking these, learning becomes a chore and ineffective at best. I have superior qualifications and skills to help any student tap into these three drivers toward their greater motivation and mastery of mathematics and business skills. [more]

Tutor to Exceed your Needs

I passed the CBEST in the fall of 1998. I also passed the Multiple Subjects Assessment Test required in California in 1999 in my first attempt. I felt that this test was easier than the SAT, that is required for college entrance. Honestly, the most difficult part of this test for me was the handwriting section at the end. I spent 5 years teaching elementary school in Southern California and a half year in China and Thailand. I possess a Business Administration degree, with a major in Accounting and minor in Marketing Management. I have worked in financial management positions for over 18 y [more]
