I quickly bring students up to speed, especially in maths they have not used for years. My students normally take the CBEST after 5-8 sessions, once they have the increased confidence I give them. This includes poor test takers or students paralyzed by math. I will know with confidence before you do that you are ready. But you will take the test after you have the confidence that you will pass. I have become an effective coach and tutor. I will review with you the full set of basic skills required to pass the test on your first try. Testing strategies and techniques will be covered. For examp [more]

The test covers content that teachers would teach in elementary classrooms. I am qualified to teach that content because I have a multiple subject teaching credential and because I have taught my own children all subjects as a home school parent/teacher. I have taken and passed the CBEST myself. **I am currently only accepting new students who are available for tutoring sessions at my home on weekday mornings or early afternoons. My 2018-2019 school year after-school schedule is already full. ** I have over 20 years of teaching experience. I taught math and science in middle school, as well [more]

I am CBEST certified, having passed on the first try. The CBEST is very tricky because there are subtle yet distinct differences in the required response. The writing section is based upon paragraph structure and how to transition from one sentence to another. It is matter of practice, writing a paragraph or two to address a subject that is given to you. I have practiced with my son to help him pass the test as well. I tutor Math and Science, but will also tutor business courses as well. The most important aspect of tutoring is to teach the student how to learn on their own. I like to focus o [more]
