I have passed and tutored the cbest test. I go over the Reading section and how it assesses your ability to comprehend information presented in written passages, tables, and graphs. I teach the two major skill areas: critical analysis and evaluation, and comprehension and research skills. I am very strong on the Mathematics section and help students understand the problems and how most of the questions are presented as word problems. I am strong on writing as well and illustrate how one topic asks you to analyze a given situation or statement and the other asks you to write about a specified p [more]

My major is Mathematics. I was asked if I can do the Mathematics for the CBEST, so I went through 2 books, and online practice tests and passed them all. I tutored 3 aspiring teachers who all passed the test. It is comprised of 50 multiple choice questions for Math, 50 multiple choice for reading, and two small Essays. I have taken 3 upper level English classes when I was achieving my A.S. in human resources management. I have gone through CBEST books thoroughly so I can easily guide my lessons smoothly. I can help you pass the CBEST Examination. [more]

I have passed the CBEST test myself within the last 10 years. I can assist in both Math and English, including the writing portion. I have worked extensively with students studying for various tests, and recently worked with a student to pass the CBEST in order to continue teaching. I have over 2,000 hours of tutoring experience in multiple subjects with students from ages 5 through adult. Many of my students had various disabilities, which I enjoyed helping them work through. I have learned that a disability label does not mean that there is a one-size-fits-all solution for all the student [more]

As someone who prepared and passed the CBEST test (2013), I understand the process first hand and can guide you through the process of studying for the test. I am an experienced tutor who graduated from USC with honors. I graduated from the University of Southern California with Honors. After graduating, I tutored for several different companies, each fulfilling in their own way. First, I taught Chinese students English reading and writing. I also taught one-on-one SAT prep and tutored study skills and all subjects in a Middle School and High School. Tutoring was one of my most fulfilling jobs [more]

The California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) is a standardized test administered throughout the state of California and Oregon for individuals who want to teach at public schools and gain a credential. It is divided into 3 sections; the Reading section and the Math section each contain 50 multiple-choice questions, while the Writing section consists of two essay questions. The test must be completed in four hours, but test-takers may use that time to work on any or all of the three sections. For the past 3 years, I have successfully tutored numerous students who were preparing to tak [more]

I have a Master's Degree in Pure Math and a Master's in Education. I can tutor a Math portion of any standardized test. What engenders a love of math? How can the door to its beautiful and fun aspects to be opened onto the numbers and their qualities, then remain open through algebra and beyond? Or, how and why do fear and lack of confidence close that door? A child-centered, developmental key can open that door. I am happy to help your child develop a sense of confidence, enthusiasm and capacity that will permeate all math lessons and tests. I have been teaching for the last 20 years, and I [more]

I aced the CBEST and can help you with the CSET as well if you are looking to become a substitute or enroll in a teacher education program. Hello Everyone, I am a credentialed Special Education teacher who just completed my first year this June. I have experience teaching students of all disabilities and substantial ABA training, both clinically and in public education. My first accomplishment towards my California teaching credential back in 1997 was passing my CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test). At that point, I'd taken so many standardized tests and was so comfortable with the sample questions they provided that I went into my test with the goal of not just passing the CBEST, but *acing* it. Having taken and aced the CBEST on my first try, I'm certain that I can help others prepare for their CBEST. My greatest strength as a tutor (beyond really knowing the subjects I tutor) is my ability to adapt to and match the way you learn. A close second [more]

1) I took the CBEST in order to become a teacher and I received a near perfect score on the math portion. 2) Most of the test is either basic math or basic algebra. I have taught basic math, algebra, geometry, and algebra 2 at the high school level for 20 years. 3) I have qualified myself as a teacher of mathematics by successfully completing the CSET for both Algebra and Geometry. Again, I received near perfect scores. I am a high school math teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching algebra, geometry, and algebra 2. I am comfortable working with students of any age, level, or [more]
