My major is Mathematics. I was asked if I can do the Mathematics for the CBEST, so I went through 2 books, and online practice tests and passed them all. I tutored 3 aspiring teachers who all passed the test. It is comprised of 50 multiple choice questions for Math, 50 multiple choice for reading, and two small Essays. I have taken 3 upper level English classes when I was achieving my A.S. in human resources management. I have gone through CBEST books thoroughly so I can easily guide my lessons smoothly. I can help you pass the CBEST Examination. [more]

I have a Master's Degree in Pure Math and a Master's in Education. I can tutor a Math portion of any standardized test. What engenders a love of math? How can the door to its beautiful and fun aspects to be opened onto the numbers and their qualities, then remain open through algebra and beyond? Or, how and why do fear and lack of confidence close that door? A child-centered, developmental key can open that door. I am happy to help your child develop a sense of confidence, enthusiasm and capacity that will permeate all math lessons and tests. I have been teaching for the last 20 years, and I [more]

1) I took the CBEST in order to become a teacher and I received a near perfect score on the math portion. 2) Most of the test is either basic math or basic algebra. I have taught basic math, algebra, geometry, and algebra 2 at the high school level for 20 years. 3) I have qualified myself as a teacher of mathematics by successfully completing the CSET for both Algebra and Geometry. Again, I received near perfect scores. I am a high school math teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching algebra, geometry, and algebra 2. I took the CBEST in order to become a teacher, and I passed it the first time in. My math score was a sufficiently high score and, with my reading and writing scores, all scores were high enough for me to pass. In order to become a credentialed teacher in 2002, I needed higher scores in each topic, math reading and writing, so I retook the writing part later to obtain a higher score in reading, so I could get my teaching credential. I enjoy working with students who want to learn. I am a retired California public high school math and science teacher. I have a single subject California teac [more]

In order to receive my degree and my CA Teaching Credential I had to take the CBEST exam and pass it. I took the exam two times and passed the second time. As a result I know what works and what does not work, when studying for CBEST. Since I passed my CBEST exam I have helped my other fellow teachers to take the exam and pass the test to receive their teaching credential. I am familiar with the subjects and the topics covered in the exam. I am a graduate of California State University, Northridge. I received my MA degree in Linguistics-TESL and I my BA in Liberal Studies and have California T [more]

The CBEST test examines basic verbal and math skills which teachers are expected to have. It is an easier test that the SAT in which I am an also an expert. Over my 20 years of tutoring, I have helped multiple students conquer the CBEST. One teacher on an emergency credential had failed the test 2 times and was told by her school that if she didn't pass the next time, she would lose her job. I'm happy to report she passed! Learning techniques to handle difficult problems as well as reviewing content gives your score the boost it needs. [more]

I received my B.A. degree many years ago. Recently, thinking I might apply to be a substitute teacher, I took the CBEST exam. Many of the people taking the test that day were experienced teachers who had failed the test previously, some more than once. I took it and got a very high score the first time! I never did apply to be a substitute teacher, but I am certain I can help any current or prospective teacher prepare for this test. People have told me for years that I'm a born teacher. I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and have a wide variety of educational and work expe [more]
