I've been teaching science and math at the high school level since 2006. I particularly enjoy teaching physics and algebra. I'm certified to teach high school math, chemistry, physical science, and physics. I've tutored math and physics in the past, and I have always been very honest with parents about student progress and motivation. I've taught primarily algebra (1 & 2) and precalculus topics since 2014. I occasionally teach geometry, and have 7 and half years of experience teaching phy... [more]

I am currently tutoring students in chemistry, physics and math at the AP and college level. I have a PhD in applied physics with an emphasis on mathematics. I am an experienced teacher who was the Math Department chairperson and an instructional leader (teacher of teachers) at a prestigious blue ribbon school. I taught and designed all math courses from prealgebra through calculus. I received a PhD from Columbia University where I studied Applied Physics. I enjoy teaching and I know I can help my students improve their skills. When I teach I try to see and explain my subjects from the studen [more]

Spending countless hours in the laboratory and taking upper level chemistry classes such as: organic and inorganic chemistries and biochemistry has given me a strong foundation in chemistry with a rudimentary understanding. Teaching and tutoring in this subject area has sharpen my skills and enable me to communicate the language of chemistry to students. I am a former educator with three years of experience teaching applied math and biological sciences to middle and high school students in the private sector. I have core content specialties in Algebra, Chemistry and Biology. My teaching knowle [more]

The reason why I became a tutor? I remember being 16 years old and was struggling with playing the flute. My mother hired a tutor to assist me, and, on the first day, she said I was going to be able to play Andante in C K.315 (W.A. Mozart). I eventually accomplished this goal. For my flute tutor, I remember her as a patient person, friendly, and, most importantly, her desire to see me succeed. Thanks to her, I found success in music and I went on to high school in the concert band and cou... [more]

I have really enjoyed tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups last several years in all areas of science and up to algebra 1 in Math. I used a tutoring service growing up which helped me on those days when you have several tests coming and not much time to learn it all. I am calm and pa... [more]

I first began tutoring in high school for a program at my church. I enjoyed helping others solve problems and develop techniques to remember concepts or turn hard problems into easy problems. I believe that repetition and learning concepts is the key to learning any subject. That is my teaching strategy. I help my student understand why each step is needed. I love math and I have used it substantially in my undergraduate studies for my Electrical Engineering degree. I have led many study sess... [more]

Hi, I obtained a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from North Carolina State University. Currently, I teach general and organic chemistry at a college level. I have also received two different awards for excellence in teaching for general chemistry course. I believe that each student has the potential to learn chemistry and I will do my best to help them understand the material. In addition to Chemistry, I am also well qualified to tutor Spanish, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra. Thank you, Jenn... [more]
