Harvard graduate specializing in computer science and writing tutoring

I have been programming for over a dozen years and am proficient both in languages used in software development (HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript) and languages used to learn programming (Java, Scratch). I have worked in the software development industry for over three years, and I have a degree from UW-Madison in computer science. My past teaching experience includes: * Tutoring first-generation and minority-population college students in programming, math, and logic through UW-Madison's Center for Educational Opportunity. * Tutoring engagements with Boston-area residents--including the children [more]

Computer Programming/Web Design and General Computing

I used a number of programming languages in my business and have taught them at the college level. I am most fluent in C++, Java, Perl, HTML, and JavaScript. I also have experience as a Web designer. I enjoy the challenge of finding just the right way to communicate a concept to a student so they understand it. I've been working in the information technology field for over 25 years and continue to enjoy the ever changing industry. Although I have worked in virtually every aspect of IT, I most enjoy systems analysis and design, programming, database programming/management, and Web design. Sh [more]

I like to program. Its a fun hobby, and a great exercise in logic. While my most frequently used languages are Python and bash (a Linux shell) - I'm still exploring other languages to try to understand there benefits. I can also write BASIC, but I don't really use it -- if I need something quick, I'll just use bash; if I'm trying to do something larger, I'll use Python. My Java has gotten a little rusty from lack of use, but like riding a bike, I could probably pick it back up given some time. If they count as languages I can also work with HTML, CSS, and javascript. I have also spent some tim [more]
