As a math major, I took this course in college and received high marks. I also apply the concepts of differentiation all the time in tutoring calculus, and have very high success in it. I am a former NC teacher that relocated to the Dallas area for a PhD program in Education at a local university. I have previously taught high school math and math to ESOL students. Tutoring is fun because it allows teachers to actually obtain an individual understanding of how students learn. I like to make math relevant but also make connections between other mathematical content. I have a master's in e [more]

I have taken the undergraduate differential equations course and learned partial differential equations from a graduate mathematical methods course long ago. I have also successfully tutored students (mostly science and engineering) taking their undergraduate differential equations courses. I enjoy seeing students achieve competency in applying conceptual understanding and logical analysis to problem-solving, so it will be the focus of the tutoring sessions. The most effective tutoring sessions are those in which the student has a specific academic goal he or she wants to accomplish. This i [more]

I have a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. I took differential equations when I completed my math degree. I am a 25 year old secondary math, science, and engineering teacher. I have a B.S. in mathematics with a minor in computer science. I also am working toward a masters in petroleum engineering. I have been tutoring for 10 years in varied sciences and math subjects. I started when I was 15 years old tutoring college physics and general chemistry to sophomore student at Texas A&M. The subjects I have knowledge of range from Java programming, middle school to university lev [more]

I graduated with honors from University of California Irvine with a degree in physics which included the study of Differential Equations. While I have not had the opportunity to tutor privately in this subject, I did teach the subject for a year and a half at a college in 2001. You have a unique way of learning. If you are having difficulty in mathematics or science? Getting low scores on the ACT? Chances are, you're trying to understand the subjects in a way that is different from the way YOU learn things. Once you learn how YOU learn, there is nothing you cannot learn. I use a technique t [more]

I have a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics. I have taken so many classes related to differential equations such as Differential Equations, ODE (I & II), PDE (I & II), graduate level ODE (I & II), PDE, etc. I taught Differential Equations at Tutoring Center at University of North Florida. Currently I am working as a math teacher at a military academy. I have a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics. I have been teaching math and statistics for three years at college level, first two years at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville and another year at the University of Louisiana, Laf [more]

I have a Ph.D. in physics. I have been a scientist at a national lab as well as a physics professor. I have at least 27 undergraduate hours in math courses. Additionally every junior and senior physics course requires solving differential equations. Add to that all the graduate level physics courses (including mathematical methods) that I took and it is clear I understand differential equations. I am an award winning teacher with high standards. I have taught physics at UT Austin, SMU and in Germany. I have been a scientist at a national lab and a professor of physics. At UT Austin, I was hono [more]

I have been exposed to a plethora of applications of differential equations. Exposure from my academic background, which includes my degree in Engineering and minor in Math, has really helped me understand techniques for solving various types of differential equations effectively. Types of differential equation I can solve include, but are not limited to homogoneous, non-homogenous, first order and higher order differential equations. My name is Sabaa, and my educational background is a degree in Civil Engineering, along with a minor in Mathematics and Architecture. I have attended school in T [more]

I actually use and study differential equations on a daily basis in my on going course work at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am very familiar with, and actually use, the various software packages for computing direction fields, and phase planes of systems of differential equations. My current favorite is Sage (a free online math tool,) but I also want to introduce Wolfram Alpha to you. It is easier to use, and might be all you need. I have studied differential equations from Coddington and Levinson's book Theory of Ordinary Differential Equations. I have tutored Differential Equati [more]
