I have a Masters degree in pure Mathematics. I have taught, tutored, graded students homework, and taken several classes in discrete math (several combinatorics as well as several graph theory classes). I have a passion for Math. I have been teaching and tutoring part time for the last 25 years. While in college, I was on the Putnam Intercollegiate Math Competition team for 3 consecutive years, and won several math competitions. I had a 4.0 GPA in math as an undergraduate (graduating with more than twice the number of required credit hours in math). I also obtained a perfect score in Computer [more]

Having both a Computer Science major and a Math background, I have a keen interest in, appreciation for, and understanding of the various topics taught in Discrete Math. I took it as a required course as an undergraduate, and I have taught it to multiple students. I have been a professional tutor on Wyzant since fall 2012, and a teacher at Cyberninjaz since summer 2015. Prior to that, I had years of experience teaching both formally and informally my friends, classmates, and even a high school AP Computer Science class for a few months. During this time I have tutored countless students and pe [more]

I took a discrete math course for my undergraduate degree in math at William and Mary. This discrete math course exposed us to the foundations of math: set theory, number theory, combinatorics, induction (as well as other types of proofs), and algorithms. I was the top of my class, and did a summer research project with my discrete math professor the summer after I took his course. My research project was on RSA-encryption (making secret codes). I absolutely love math, and my passion for math is what drives me to help others succeed and reach their potential in this subject. I studied math in [more]
I did so well when I took discrete math in college, that the professor hired me to be the grader for the course the next year. I solidified that knowledge by regularly applying it in more advanced courses and jobs in logic and computer science. My educational background is extensive. I attended the University of Delaware, where I earned three majors (physics, computer science, and cognitive science) and three minors (philosophy, mathematics, and political science). I later earned a law degree from the University of Virginia. In other words, I have spent far too many years of my life in school. [more]

I have background in a lot of topics contained in discrete math courses, such as sets, and probability. Moreover, I have recently borrowed a copy of a popular discrete math textbook, and have read through the material, and I have a good general understanding of most of the topics. I am an experienced math tutor who has worked at George Mason University Math Learning Center for about three years, where I tutored students in variety of math courses such as algebra, probability, and calculus. I have a strong passion for teaching and more importantly I have been highly successful in transferring m [more]
I've tutored this subject in the past, it was a core part of my Computer Science and Mathematics degree coursework. Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Number Theory more than cover the basics of proofs and fundamentals covered in discrete math. All classes which were a part of my cryptography curriculum. I've got 12 years of tutoring experience ranging from remedial algebra through third semester calculus. I've helped numerous students through AP Calculus AB (and BC) in addition to subjects in preparation (pre-calculus and the algebras). I have a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from t [more]
I took an undergrad course in matrix theory at Ohio state. At Penn State, I took grad courses in probability and logical design. I also took a grad MathStat course. At NJIT, I took a grad course in algorithm analysis. At John Hopkins, I took a course in probability. At Univ of Md, I took an undergrad course in mathematical logic. I taught modern logic at Ann Arundel Community College for 2 years. Hi: I am a an experienced tutor in math, the physical sciences, engineering and logic. My main object in tutoring is to show the student the EASY way to solve problems and to build up their c [more]

Not only have I studied the problems specific to discrete mathematics but I have taken several other courses related to the subject. I have a strong background in the fundamentals as they are also used heavily in all of Mathematics (Logic, proofs, set theory, etc). Specific courses include: Foundations of Mathematical Reasoning, Discrete Mathematics, Digital Logic Design, Computer Programming, Abstract and Linear Algebra (vector spaces, finite group theory, etc). Hence, I have experience with the problems, how to solve the problems, and why they are being taught to students at this level. [more]

I aced a discrete math course in high school, as well as two separate number theory classes at UMD with heavy overlaps in material with discrete mathematics. I also taught a 1-credit course at UMD with deep ties to discrete mathematics, nested in a study of the integers, partitions, and combinatorics. Concepts from discrete mathematics have also arisen throughout many of the other advanced math courses I have taken. I have some experience tutoring discrete mathematics outside of Wyzant. Hi, I'm Aaron. I've just begun my second year at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I am a math [more]

As an undergraduate in physics and electrical engineering and a PhD student in physics, I took basic and advanced courses in discrete mathematics. I have taught this subject at universities. I have tutored high school and college students on this subject. I have Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering and PhD in Physics. I have more than 10 years of experience in teaching math, physics, and engineering courses to science and non-science students at UMCP, Virginia Tech, and in Switzerland. I am a dedicated teacher and I always took the extra effort to spend time with [more]
