In the course of my education and past tutoring experiences, I have developed some familiarity with some topics that are considered discrete math and covered in some discrete math courses, such as Logic and boolean algebra, coding theory, probability, basic combinatorics of combinations, permutations, the basics of graph theory, proving relationships using induction, set theory problems using Venn diagrams or boolean algebra notation, binary number systems (other base number systems), recurrence relations, binomial expansion theorem, Pascal's triangle, conditional probability, and De Morgan' [more]

I taught discrete mathematics at the university level for several years. The discrete math courses were at two different levels. The introductory course was taken by students who went on to work in computer science or who became math teachers. The higher level class was for mathematics majors. Some of the topics covered were set theory, counting techniques, relations, functions, logic and proofs. Over the years, I've worked on good ways to present the logical material in discrete math and to find appropriate examples to explain the area. [more]

I took Discrete Mathematics I in college and received a perfect A. I also took Discrete Mathematics II in college and received a perfect A. I commonly tutored Discrete while tutoring at the university. I found the class to be extremely easy to master and was very comfortable when tutoring others in the subject. Hello! My name is Lindsey. I have always had a passion for math- I majored in math in college and got my teaching certificate in Pennsylvania in math as well (grades 7-12). I have had a variety of experiences with tutoring. I was a university math tutor at Edinboro University and also p [more]

As a math Major with a Bachelors degree, I dealt in depth with many Discrete Math concepts. I became proficient in proofs with logic and set theory in my college level course on Logic. I tackled many discrete series in Calculus II and III, and in other classes I dealt with binary operations, relation and function analysis and composition, modular arithmetic, induction, and groups. Lastly, my two college-level Probability and Statistics courses and actuarial exam experience have helped me greatly grasp concepts of combinatorics and concepts modeled in Discrete Math courses. I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. Discrete math, Finite Math, Linear Algebra and Logic are all early-level courses in this track, I feel confident I can help anyone with whatever problems they might have with these subjects. I've taught math in the classroom in Colorado. I've been tutoring since I was in high school myself. I have many different ways to approach different concepts and can probably find the best way for your needs. I've had great success teaching students everything from beginning fractions through all of high school math throu [more]

Discrete math is one of my favorite subjects to tutor. I tutored discrete math while working at YSU Mathematics Assistance Center. I also have tutored related math for Computer Science courses taught in the CS Department. I recently graduated from Kent State University with a PhD in Pure Math. I recently graduated from Kent State University with a PhD in Pure Math. I also have a Bachelors degree in Math from Cal Tech and a Masters degree in Math from Youngstown State University. I have taught algebra and fundamental mathematics at the college level. I taught one quarter of college trigonome [more]
