I have a MS in Mathematics specializing abstract algebra and a PhD in Applied Mathematics specializing numerical analysis. I taught discrete and finite math at NCSU. I am a PhD Mathematician and a software engineer with tutoring experience in USA, Germany, and Korea. I have many years of experience in tutoring middle and high school students (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, AP calculus, probability). I also have experience in teaching college classes and mentoring interns (calculus, linear algebra, finite mathematics, discrete mathematics, probability, computer programming). I am especial [more]

I have background in a lot of topics contained in discrete math courses, such as sets, and probability. Moreover, I have recently borrowed a copy of a popular discrete math textbook, and have read through the material, and I have a good general understanding of most of the topics. I am an experienced math tutor who has worked at George Mason University Math Learning Center for about three years, where I tutored students in variety of math courses such as algebra, probability, and calculus. I have a strong passion for teaching and more importantly I have been highly successful in transferring m [more]

This is closely related to one of my research area combinatorial optimization. Also, I have taught America Math Competition (AMC) which requires an expert knowledge on discrete math I am currently a senior data scientist at a data consulting company and have more than 10 years of experience of teaching mathematics as a private tutor and have 3 years of experience of teaching university mathematics as a teaching assistant and as an instructor. I received Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in 2013 and has taught and tutored wide range of mathematical branches including calculus I,II,III, line [more]

I took a discrete math course for my undergraduate degree in math at William and Mary. This discrete math course exposed us to the foundations of math: set theory, number theory, combinatorics, induction (as well as other types of proofs), and algorithms. I was the top of my class, and did a summer research project with my discrete math professor the summer after I took his course. My research project was on RSA-encryption (making secret codes). I absolutely love math, and my passion for math is what drives me to help others succeed and reach their potential in this subject. I studied math in [more]

In college and graduate school I studied linear algebra and probability theory extensively. At that time, I did not realize that in the working world the main application of Discrete Mathematics I would utilize was algorithms for computers. Probability theory is a close second. Logic, set theory, combinatorics, graph theory, information theory and computational geometry were all subjects that I developed a working knowledge of while on the job. Of them all, I enjoy set theory the most, perhaps because it requires deep thought. Of them all, I find matrix algebra (of linear algebra) the mos [more]

I aced a discrete math course in high school, as well as two separate number theory classes at UMD with heavy overlaps in material with discrete mathematics. I also taught a 1-credit course at UMD with deep ties to discrete mathematics, nested in a study of the integers, partitions, and combinatorics. Concepts from discrete mathematics have also arisen throughout many of the other advanced math courses I have taken. I have some experience tutoring discrete mathematics outside of Wyzant. Hi, I'm Aaron. I've just begun my second year at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I am a math [more]

Not only have I studied the problems specific to discrete mathematics but I have taken several other courses related to the subject. I have a strong background in the fundamentals as they are also used heavily in all of Mathematics (Logic, proofs, set theory, etc). Specific courses include: Foundations of Mathematical Reasoning, Discrete Mathematics, Digital Logic Design, Computer Programming, Abstract and Linear Algebra (vector spaces, finite group theory, etc). Hence, I have experience with the problems, how to solve the problems, and why they are being taught to students at this level. [more]

I have a PhD in Math. I have taught Discrete Math at university level. I have also tutored discrete math to high school students around New Haven, Yale students and University of Quinnipiac students. I also have a silver medal in International Mathematics Olympiad. One of the subject covered in IMO is Discrete Math. This course may cover a variety of subjects. The following subjects are typical subjects discussed in this lesson. Most topics are only discussed briefly: Mathematical Induction Strong Mathematical Induction Pigeonhole Principle Proof By Contradiction Basic Counting Methods (Pro [more]

I hold a Master's degree in Economics with specialization in Macroeconomics, Math (calculus I & II, algebra, geometry, dynamical systems and differential equations, probability). I have taught college Math to +1200 students over the past 5 years. I hold a Master of Economics and I have been a GRE, GMAT, Math instructor for 11 years. My edge cutting methods help students reach excellent scores for competitive colleges. If you think that you are skilled enough but still need a boost for a better score or if you need a review of the GMAT type or GRE type Math to do well at the test, I can help yo [more]

I have a Master's and PhD degree in applied Mathematics/Michigan/1990(Focused on Graph Theory). I have taught, tutored, graded students homework, and taken several classes in discrete math (Logic, Number Theory, Set Theory, combinatorics and as well as several graph theory classes. Now, I am teaching Finite math and Logic class at NOVA community college I am a retired high school math teacher who started teaching math and physics when I was 19 years old.
