I took a class in discrete applied mathematics at M.I.T. I took a class in number theory. I also took a class in combinatorics. I taught myself probability and passed the actuarial probability exam. (I had the deeper theoretical background of measure theory, and simply coupled it with the combinatorics.) I studied mathematics at M.I.T. for many years. I came to Georgia to get a doctorate in philosophy. I have been teaching and tutoring for a decade at various colleges, including Athens Technical College, University of Georgia, Piedmont College, and the University of South Carolina, Upstate. [more]

I took an upper level discrete mathematics course at the University of South Carolina (MATH 574) and received an A. I have also encountered discrete mathematics concepts in several statistics courses such as probability. Discrete mathematics is also a component of the GRE Quantitative section, which I scored 167 out 170 on. Hello! My name is Carter A. and I am a recent graduate from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina, where I majored in Statistics. I am currently working towards a PhD in Biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charlesto [more]

While tutoring in the math lab at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB), I tutored at least one student (taking the course) every week. I've worked in the math lab for several years. I am a PhD graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). I've been teaching and tutoring mathematics for over 10 years. My strongest personal characteristics in tutoring are that I'm good with children and adults with anxiety or attention deficit disorder, patient with the student, and encouraging. There are objectives that I have when tutoring the student: explaining the material so that the studen [more]

My educational background is in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I have taken all tests to be certified in these areas. I would love the tutoring opportunity to help students improve their grades in basic math. I have been trying to keep working with students in grades second through fifth when tutoring. I have tutored students ages five through eleven years old in reading, math, and language, vocabulary, and phonics. Before starting my tutoring job with WyzAnt, I was a Speech-Language Teacher, with experience tutoring after school hours. I was a Bright Futures Tutor [more]

I've had a 2000 and 3000 level class in Discrete Math as well as a class in Mathematical Proofs. Additionally, I've been actively involved in graduate level research mathematics in topology and analysis, specifically Rings of Continuous Functions and the ring structure of Uniformly Continuous Topological Spaces I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a B.S. in Mathematics. I tutored at UNG for two years during my undergraduate degree in the UNG-Gainesville tutoring lab. Over the years I've also tutored individuals on and off in various mathematical topics. The ability to be able [more]

My internship through UNCW has placed me in many different classes, including discrete math. It was my first experience with discrete math but I was able to create and teach lesson plans after working with the teacher during planning. After my experience in the two blocks of this course I am now comfortable with discrete math and have many activities and resources for this course. I graduated from UNCW with my B.A. in mathematics. I am using this degree to obtain a position as a high school math teacher. I have been employed by New Hanover County Schools for over three years as well as private [more]
