Discrete Mathematics was a required course as a Mathematics Major. The topics included in the course span a wide range of fields. Making the connections from Math, to Computer Science, and Physics made the world smaller, yet made it known that there is still much to learn. As a double major in Mathematics and Physics as an undergraduate, I continued to enjoy the connections between the two fields of study I explored as a high school student. Helping students to see the beauty in nature as they solidify their understanding is a joyous experience in itself. The confidence students gain as th [more]

I received a 'B' in discrete mathematics from Florida Atlantic University. Since the time that I took this course, I have taken similar courses, many with overlapping content. This content includes logic, set theory, combinatorics, probability, algebra and geometry. Therefore, I believe that my long history with this class and its content makes me qualified to tutor it. Hello, and thank you for your interest in my tutoring services. My name is Aaron, and I would be happy to assist you or your loved one with any educational needs that you or they may have. In 2013, I graduated from Florida Gu [more]

I have occasionally tutored Discrete Mathematics since I took it in college over 20 years ago. The beauty of Discrete Mathematics is that while most forms of mathematics lend themselves to problem solving if you know how to go about it, with Discrete Math the approach is usually quite concrete and understandable. My main strength with tutoring is my ability to present material in an easily understandable way. I have been tutoring part-time for over 20 years, and would like to make the jump to full-time. After all, it is what I enjoy, so why not go for it? I have two undergraduate degrees f [more]

I have been tutoring undergraduate and graduate level mathematics on weekly basis for more than 3 years. I have more than 80 graduate credit hours in mathematics. Most of the above mentioned classes commonly use the techniques learned in Discrete mathematics. I am Level III certified by CRLA International Tutor Training Program with over a hundred graduate credits in advanced mathematics. Gifted students and/or interesting subjects will get a significant discount. I have been tutoring college level mathematics for the seven five years. My favorite tutoring subjects are: Mathematical Analysis, [more]

My teaching certificate for secondary school mathematics was earned in 1981, renewed in 1991, in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where I taught in the 1980s. My college training and my experience as a teacher included Discrete Mathematics as a subject. I taught Discrete Math in Delaware (2010-2014) on a reciprocal teaching certificate issued in 2012, based on my California teaching certificate (issued for life in 1969) and my Kentucky certificate. I have a BA, two MAs, and a PhD. I also taught at Cabrini College, University of Oregon, and the University of Kentucky at the undergraduate and gr [more]

Discrete Math is the study of math concepts that apply to non continuous functions. I have taught the entire course at school and I have taught all of the Discrete Math Courses separately for more than 10 years. The following are the topics most often found in Discrete Math Text Books: Set theory, Graph theory, Probability, Number theory, Algebra, Calculus of finite differences, discrete calculus or discrete analysis, Geometry, Topology, Game theory, decision theory, utility theory, and social choice theory. With all of the interesting topics this is one the more "fun" math courses. [more]

Hi, I'm a certified secondary math teacher from FIU. While I was going to school I was very lucky to have found a program that helped math teachers to become better teachers by tutoring us while we took the hard math classes and by giving us the opportunity to tutor other students after we took the class. I was able to learn at a deeper level since I had to be able to understand well enough to be able to explain it later. Discrete math was on of the subjects that I took and tutored. I believe there is an unlimited amount of learning available from any of these courses and tutoring for me is a [more]

I have taught discrete mathematics for several years at the community college level. I have been tutoring Engineering Maths differential equation, Laplace transformation, Fourier analysis, calculus, etc. to several college students over the years and I have been successful in teaching the subject. I have been teaching the subject of mathematics for over 20 years. My name is Ian, and I may be the ideal tutor for you! I am a graduate of Nova Southeastern University with an MBA specializing in Finance. I did my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at University Technology of Jamaica, an [more]

I took Discrete Math during my time at UM and received an A in the course. Since then, I've tutored many students throughout the entire course, as well as on specific areas including set theory, combinatorics, logical proofs, cardinality, boolean algebra, induction and recursion, etc. A lot of students have difficulty understanding the somewhat arcane notation used, especially since the course is an introduction to higher level abstract math, but I've had much success in helping my students comprehend material and excel in their coursework. I taught various subjects of discrete math, including financial math, set theory, linear algebra, probability, and linear programming. I have always been very interested in both mathematics and writing, both fiction and non-fiction. I graduated from Harvard College with my A.B. cum laude in mathematics and was also a member of my house?s literary writing group. I then graduated from Harvard Law School with a J.D. While there, I was very active in the law student newspaper, the Harvard Law Record, of which I became President in my third year there. After years in the Navy lawyer program, [more]
