Last year, I worked a hundred or so Discrete Math questions simply to review the subject for future students. While earning my Math degree, I took a course titled Advanced Discrete Math, a course titled Logic and a Computer Science course titled Theoretical Concepts. The degree included 21 more hours of Computer Science which included applications of discrete math such as Boolean Algebra, recursion and Venn diagrams. Hello, It's great to hear from you. I really enjoy tutoring and am looking forward to working with you. Whether you dislike math, have forgotten it, or simply need to brush up [more]

I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. One of the many classes I took was discrete mathematics and received an A in that course. I am very good at math, and even though it has been years since I have taken that course, I have been tutoring students in all levels of math independently since I left college and have never met a student that I couldn't help. I am a new tutor to this website, but I have been tutoring and helping others for years on my own. I would be happy to provide references to anyone who needs them. My love for the subject of math, physics, [more]

I registered for Discrete Math during the fall 2014 semester at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. I completed the course and received an 'A' in the course. I have been working as a Math Tutor for the last 1 1/2 years. Hello, My name is Lidia. I am a Senior at UNT where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Math and expect to complete in the summer of 2018. I am a math lab specialist who currently tutors many high school and college students from Pre-Algebra through Calculus. I am very aware of all the math concepts that these students are studying. I would love to tutor you or your c [more]

Discrete mathematics is concerned with the relationships among mathematical structures that are discrete instead of continuous. For example, the arithmetic of integers would be a topic in discrete mathematics, whereas the arithmetic of all real numbers is in the realm of continuous mathematics. Broadly speaking, the topics in discrete mathematics include, but are not limited to, the following: logic, proofs, set theory, number theory, linear algebra, graph theory, probability, permutations and combinations, algorithms, and computability theory. I have experience in these areas through my un [more]

I double majored in economics and mathematics at the University of Arkansas. I received an A in my Discrete Mathematics course and a GPA average higher than 3.5 in my mathematics courses. Hello, I have recently moved to the DFW area to begin my career as a quantitative analyst for a large company--and to be honest, I miss teaching/tutoring. I have extensive experience as a teacher and a tutor. As an undergraduate student, I was a supplemental instructor for economics and tutored in math. I continued to tutor on the side in graduate school while I studied economics and was also a teacher's assi [more]

For discrete and proof classes, I have taken Discrete math, Topology, and Real Analysis. These courses are all proof based and are built from understanding definitions and proving arguments. I believe that makes me available to tutor this. Hello! I am senior studying General Business and Mathematics at Southern Methodist University (SMU). My specialties are calculus, statistics, Spanish, and finance. Currently my GPA is a 3.76 overall and 3.9 in Mathematics. Overall I am patient, good with kids, creative, and will do my best to teach the subject. I want to make sure that you or your child succ [more]

Besides a math PhD, I taught discrete math at least five times at college level for math and CS majors. My research field was in combinatorics and algebra, both of which overlap discrete math. I wrote several reviews for textbooks with titles like "discrete mathematics" or "mathematical foundation for computer science". I graduated from Colorado State University in May 2000 with MS in computer science and in May 2004 with a PhD in mathematics. I have taught mathematics and computer science at Colorado State University and Emory University. The courses I have taught include pre-calculus, calcul [more]

I majored in engineering and minored in math. My career was in telecom/computers with extensive mathematical analytics. I tutor almost any college and high school math course. I get a thrill in watching the light turn on students' heads when they see how easy math can be once it's explained properly to them. I hear "My child has this or that learning problem..." but I've not met one yet that can't improve. I instill a lot of CONFIDENCE IN MATH in them. I've always tutored my 2 daughters... [more]

I have taken both Discrete Math I & II in college as well as numerous courses above these. I also have tutored Discrete Math I & II for a semester at UT Dallas as well as other related courses. I also have experience tutoring students in other mathematics. I have a master's degree in Computer Science focusing in Information Assurance at The University of Texas at Dallas. I have a master's degree in Computer Science focusing in Information Assurance at The University of Texas at Dallas. During my stay there, I worked as a tutor in Discrete Math. Of course, I would get students coming to me for [more]
