I have taught Discrete Math once at the freshman level, and I have taught Finite Math several times. In fact, I was a champion of curriculum reform at one university where I was teaching in order to bring a Discrete Math course into our courses. Needless to say, not only do I know a lot about the topics in Discrete Math, but I also enjoy those topics! I hold two master's degrees -- one in applied mathematics, one in physics. I started teaching math in 1999. While many of the intervening years saw me as a part-time adjunct instructor of mathematics, I did enjoy a full-time appointment to the ma [more]

I've been tutoring and working with a wide variety of discrete mathematics courses and problem types for some 20 years. These include analysis of properties and methods related to discrete probability distributions, including methods involving pmfs and moments. I've also worked with courses and problems involving logic, information theory and set theory, and typical courses and related problems used in introduction to discrete math for computer programmers, including proving concepts around integers and sums. I have also worked extensively with graph theory, discrete calculus and analysis, t [more]

I have a Math degree from University Ottawa, Kansas. This subject area is not very different from any other advanced mathematics topics. I can help any student that needs help in this subject and other areas such as logic or finite maths. I earned a B+ grade in this subject when I took it in school, and I am ready to show any student my transcript if needed. Teaching, learning and test taking are different things, but mastering a subject can only qualify a tutor to teach such subject. I am here for you all. [more]

In addition to my own education at the college level which included classes in discrete logic, discrete programming, proof structures, and combinatorics, I have taught discrete subjects in math at the college and high school level, as well as tutored many students from a variety of backgrounds over the years. I have taught classes from several perspectives, including a traditional lecture/homework structure, flipped classroom model, and a discussion-based model. My preferred method of tutoring involves allowing the student to ask questions and then helping them with their confusion first, then [more]

I recently graduated cum laude from Florida State University with bachelors degrees in both Physics and Pure Mathematics. During the course of my math curriculum I took a variety of courses dealing with topics integral to the study of Discrete mathematics. Examples of such course work include abstract algebra and introduction to set theory, and advanced calculus. In the end I have extensive experience in topics taught in discrete math courses and other math subjects and their applications to real world problems through my study of physics. [more]

I taught Math 110 (Discrete Math) several times at UAH. These are the topics, straight from the catalog's course description: ? college algebra ? sets and the algebra of sets, including the set operations and relations ? logic and the algebra of logic, including logical operations and relations ? combinatorics, including permutations and combinations ? elementary probability and its applications ? descriptive statistics ? an introduction to matrices and their operations and applications Hi, I'm Cliff. I own a Master's in Math (UAH 2004) and have twelve years experience as a math instructor [more]

I have a very strong mathematical background and I excelled in my Discrete Math class at MIT. I also excelled in classes that used Discrete Math concepts such as my Computer Science classes and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) classes in Electrical Engineering. At MIT I got a bachelor of science degree and a master of engineering degree, each in "electrical engineering and computer science". My GPA for my BSc. degree is 4.2/5.0 and my GPA for my M.Eng degree is 4.6/5.0. I have always had a passion for math, the sciences, computer science and engineering and always excelled in them from high sc [more]

I have dealt with discrete and continuous math problems through my data analyses research experiences. During my PhD studies I have worked with a great number of data falling in various categories including discrete data, continuous, and binary data. Mathematical modeling and statistical analysis of such data are all making up my experiences with math and statistics. I have taken many opportunities to teach and tutor while pursuing my degrees. During my MS and PhD programs I have acquired a strong foundation in traffic engineering, traffic flow theory, capacity and level of service analysis, s [more]

I am certified to teach Mathematics, grades 6-12. I tutored Discrete Math at Athens State University for a year and a half. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Education. I was a Geometry teacher this past year. I loved teaching/helping/mentoring/disciplining my students/children. I decided to leave the teaching world for multiple reasons. A few reasons were because it's really stressful, time consuming (roughly 70 hour weeks I dedicated), and I realized I was only passionate about my students (not anything else related to teaching). I am currently tutoring three stude [more]
