I taught discrete mathematics at the university level for several years. The discrete math courses were at two different levels. The introductory course was taken by students who went on to work in computer science or who became math teachers. The higher level class was for mathematics majors. Some of the topics covered were set theory, counting techniques, relations, functions, logic and proofs. Over the years, I've worked on good ways to present the logical material in discrete math and to find appropriate examples to explain the area. [more]

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. Discrete math, Finite Math, Linear Algebra and Logic are all early-level courses in this track, I feel confident I can help anyone with whatever problems they might have with these subjects. I've taught math in the classroom in Colorado. I've been tutoring since I was in high school myself. I have many different ways to approach different concepts and can probably find the best way for your needs. I've had great success teaching students everything from beginning fractions through all of high school math throu [more]

I taught discrete mathematics at Virginia Tech for two years as a line instructor. As a mathematician with a doctorate, I have a depth of mathematical expertise that is particularly useful. In one capacity or another (graduate teaching assistant, university line instructor, high school teacher) I have been teaching for much of the last eleven years; my favorite part of my teaching jobs has been tutoring people one on one in office hours, where progress towards learning is much easier to see and sense. I wrote an award-winning dissertation on the mathematics of voting systems to complete my [more]

I took a discrete math course at my university and later tutored it for two years. I am currently teaching a proof course for high school students at a summer program. I recently received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I will be receiving my master's degree in August 2018. I tutored at my university for three years, and I currently work as an instructor at a nonprofit math summer program. I am an online-only tutor who specializes in math and test prep. These subjects are very important for college admissions and beyond, and I want t [more]

A background check is on file with WyzAnt if you needed. -I travel around meeting students at schools, libraries, coffee houses, or homes. Usually meet at Barnes & Nobles...these work out very well. Some libraries also work well. I do not travel to various school campuses because of new parking restraints on non-student parking. Parents and students of mine do trust... [more]
