Discrete mathematics is concerned with the relationships among mathematical structures that are discrete instead of continuous. For example, the arithmetic of integers would be a topic in discrete mathematics, whereas the arithmetic of all real numbers is in the realm of continuous mathematics. Broadly speaking, the topics in discrete mathematics include, but are not limited to, the following: logic, proofs, set theory, number theory, linear algebra, graph theory, probability, permutations and combinations, algorithms, and computability theory. I have experience in these areas through my un [more]

As an undergraduate at UTA, I have taken discrete mathematics and advanced discrete mathematics. I did well in both courses, and I thoroughly enjoyed the material. I've worked in a tutoring or teaching role for most of my adult life, and I love helping other people learn! While earning my B.S. in math, I worked in my university's math clinic, tutoring a variety of (math) subjects, and while I was in graduate school I was a teaching assistant in the math department for two years, and for one year I worked in a high school geometry classroom, both enriching the students' education and my abilit [more]

I registered for Discrete Math during the fall 2014 semester at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. I completed the course and received an 'A' in the course. I have been working as a Math Tutor for the last 1 1/2 years. Hello, I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I currently attend TWU where I am pursuing a master of science degree in mathematics. I am a pre-algebra math professor at TWU and NCTC in the Denton/Corinth area. I own a business in private math tutoring services and tutor high school and college students of al [more]

I am a Chemistry senior but I like math too. On my 7th semester in college I took discrete math even though I did not require it for my degree. I found it really interesting and was also among the few to make an A. I am also a certified CSE tutor. Hello all, I am Saurav, a chemistry graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University. I recently moved to Montgomery Village, Maryland. I have had experiences in on-campus tutoring as well as private tutoring. I have been trained to be a tutor as per the requirements of Center for Student's Excellence, an umbrella organization for tutoring centers. M [more]

I majored in engineering and minored in math. My career was in telecom/computers with extensive mathematical analytics. I tutor almost any college and high school math course. I get a thrill in watching the light turn on students' heads when they see how easy math can be once it's explained properly to them. I hear "My child has this or that learning problem..." but I've not met one yet that can't improve. I instill a lot of CONFIDENCE IN MATH in them. I've always tutored my 2 daughters... [more]

I have taken courses specifically in discrete mathematics and I feel very knowledge and comfortable in regards to the subject matter. Hello! My name is Jasmine and I am currently a high school mathematics teacher. I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 2011, then a Master's from UGA in 2014. While matriculating as an undergrad, I peer tutored in Algebra, PreCalculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Probability and Statistics, Discrete mathematics, GACE math prep, and GRE math prep. I have extensive knowledge of and a passion for mathematics and tutoring. My tutoring method involve [more]

I am an experienced college tutor in Discrete Math. I.T. professional - analyst and programmer experienced in writing definitions which require examining all possibilities using logic and other theoretical and logical tools. Received a firm understanding of objectives while taking the class in college and have formed prerequisites, lessons, practice and self-examination that foster student success. EVERY SINGLE MATH STUDENT I TUTORED LAST YEAR PASSED ALL STANDARDIZED TESTS! I'M COMMITTED TO STUDENT SUCCESS. I TAKE IT PERSONAL. I got my Bachelor of Science degree at Liberty University and I was a mathematics major. I have worked for the mathematical department of Liberty University since August 2012. I took Discrete Math in the Fall of 2012 and I started tutoring for this course at Liberty University. I just graduate from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Math. I worked as a tutor/ grader for the mathematics department since August 2012. During these two years tutoring, I learned how to explain mathematical concept to students of various proficiency levels and I learned how to be patient with students [more]

Last year, I worked a hundred or so Discrete Math questions simply to review the subject for future students. While earning my Math degree, I took a course titled Advanced Discrete Math, a course titled Logic and a Computer Science course titled Theoretical Concepts. The degree included 21 more hours of Computer Science which included applications of discrete math such as Boolean Algebra, recursion and Venn diagrams. Hello, It's great to hear from you. I really enjoy tutoring and am looking forward to working with you. Whether you dislike math, have forgotten it, or simply need to brush up [more]

I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. One of the many classes I took was discrete mathematics and received an A in that course. I am very good at math, and even though it has been years since I have taken that course, I have been tutoring students in all levels of math independently since I left college and have never met a student that I couldn't help. My love for the subject of math, physics, and teaching comes from a lifetime of studying the subjects and realizing how useful they can be in understanding everything in the world around me. I enjoy helping ot [more]
