I took Discrete Math in college, and I actually got into the tutoring business because when my professor was looking to recommend a student tutor, she dropped my name for the position. This was an unsolicited recommendation as well, so I believe this speaks to my ability in the topic. I was then one of the few tutors at my college's Math Excel Center who was capable of teaching the subject, so I was able to get plenty of experience in tutoring the subject as well. The best tutor isn't the one that you come back and see every week. The best tutor is the last one that you will ever need to see. [more]

I have been a GTA for an undergraduate level course in Data Structures and Algorithms - the CS department's version of the discrete math class. Proof writing, propositional logic, combinatorics, and basic algorithmic analysis are all skills that I can teach. I am a Graduate Student in the Richie school of Engineering and Computer Science. I received my BS in Comp Sci with minors in math and physics, have taught programming (Java, C++ and Minecraft Modding) at the IDTech Summer camp, and am doing research in Software Engineering for Embedded Systems. Discrete math is a fundamental aspect of co [more]

I have my professional teaching license to teach mathematics for grades 5 through 12. I earned my BS Ed in Secondary Mathematics Education and my M Ed in Curriculum & Instruction, both from the University of Missouri. I'm currently in my 13th year teaching middle/high school mathematics at Century Middle School in Thornton, CO. In addition to teaching, I tutor on the side because I'm passionate about education and enjoy helping people reach there goals. I'm in my 13th year teaching middle/high school mathematics and am highly qualified to teach grades 5 through 12. I currently teach 8th grade [more]

I am well versed in sets, functions and relations, matrix algebra, probability, graph theory, logic, mathematical induction, and algorithmic thinking. I am also familiar with Boolean algebra, linear programming, and number theory. I think of discrete mathematics simply as the mathematics that is necessary for decision making in non-continuous situations. I have taught math for 25 years including teaching college Finite Math. I have a master's degree in Operations Research. I am a PhD who has taught Math, Computer, Placement testing (e.g. SAT, ACT, etc.), Education, Astronomy, and Economics. [more]

I am currently a Grad student in economics and just got admitted in the graduate maths department, at UC Denver. I also received last spring a Certificate as a Tutor for level 1 in mathematics and economics. Among the subject I was tutoring, I have successfully tutored Differential equations at the introduction and the advanced level. Hello students and parents! I have experience in teaching Mathematics and Economics. I like to interact with students of various backgrounds. I enjoy instructing others and the process of learning. I'm a certified tutor in Colorado in Mathematics and Economics. [more]

I taught discrete math to computer science students at the University of Wyoming at both undergrad and grad levels. I have more than 15 years of teaching experience at both college and high school level in the areas of languages, math, logic, and computer science. In addition, I have extensive experience with non-traditional learners from both sides of the learning spectrum (IQs in the 40s and 140s) and appreciate the challenges for both learners and instructors. I always observe the students and listen to them attempting a problem or a task before making recommendations and/or assisting the [more]

I have tutored a number of students in discrete math concepts such as basic logic, proof, and interpreting the difference between discrete and continuous number sets when applying concepts. I have been successful in tutoring this at the college and high school level for several years, with many students. I'm an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of mathematical concepts to students of all levels. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics, an MBA in Finance, and a PhD in Research Methods & Statistics, with emphasis in Finance. I've helped tutor a number of students before I found Wyzant.com and can provide [more]

I am a PhD in Mathematics and I am a Teaching Assistant for Discrete Math at CU Boulder. I am very good at Discrete Math. I am a graduate student at CU Boulder, with five years teaching/tutoring experience. I can tutor both high school and college level math classes. I am available afternoons, evenings, and most weekends. I have good communication skills as well as teaching skills by building up through my graduate program as a Research Assistant as well as Teaching Assistant - I got Teaching Excellent Award. I am willing to help high schools students as well as undergraduate students in so [more]

As a proof-based course, discrete mathematics presents a new challenge to most students who take it. It is a course that combines a lot of topics like set-theory, graph theory, combinatorics, etc. I have a deep understanding for these fundamental areas of mathematics from my graduate education and research in mathematics. Hello, my name is Jorge and I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in economics. I have a Master's degree in mathematics, and I have a Bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in math. My career goals involve being a professor in economics. I have an extensive history in tutoring [more]

I took discrete math at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I received an A in the class. (The school does not give out A+ grades). I also took classes that came after Discrete, that used Discrete, including Real Anaylsis, Combinatorics, Topology, and others. These helped me master Discrete Further. I have helped my friends and teammates on numerous occasions on their discrete math homework and with studying for test. Hi! My name is Morgan P. I am a recent college graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder with majors in Mathematics and Economics. At the University of Colorado B [more]
