I have a B.S. in Theoretical Mathematics. Most courses that go by the title "Discrete Math" are gentle introductions to proof writing, modeling, and the axiomatic structure of higher mathematics, and are usually offered at the college level. Introductory courses in discrete mathematics go by many titles, are intended for other majors besides math, and provide exposure to topics not typically encountered by math majors in a single course. A typical course in discrete mathematics will begin with set theory. An algebra of sets is provided that explains the rules for combining, comparing, sepa [more]

In High School I took 4 years of math and in undergrad I took 8 semesters of math, including pre-calculus, calculus and analytical geometry (2 semesters), differential equations, and engineering mathematics. These courses included virtually all the topics in Discrete Math. I taught algebra II to freshmen and pre-calculus to juniors and seniors at the International School Singapore. I received a 36 on my ACT Math and I have tutored my son for the ACT (he received a 34 in math). When I took the GRE I scored at the 96% on Quantitative Reasoning. [more]

I have a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Oregon. I have taken courses in all the main Discrete Math topics including Combinatorics and Graph Theory, Topology, Probability, Number Theory, Algebra, and Operations Research, for each of which I received an A grade. Copies of my transcripts can be made available if necessary. I have experience teaching Discrete Math at the college level and have written two papers on graph theory. I have a strong passion for math and pride myself on making obscure concepts easy to understand and fun! I am a Lecturer at Leeward Community Colleg [more]

I took several discrete math courses in college (I have a B.S. in Mathematics/Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University). Topics like logic, logical operators, and combinatorics are some of my favorite topics to study and tutor students in. I have tutored several students who were taking discrete math courses and was able to help each one of them! Aloha, I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My wife and I came to Hawai?i on our honeymoon in 2001 & moved here in 2002. I have been working as a mathematics tutor for more than ten years. I really enjoy it. The world of math contains some [more]
